Jadavpur University is one of the best government college under WBJEE. Consequently, the cutoff is high. The previous year closing rank of OBC category for Mechanical engineering is Jadavpur University was 4040. And you have secured 6855. Hence it is not possible for you to get Mechanical engineering

If you are in your 1st year of engineering, then you can't transfer your branch from mechanical to computer science engineering. Both courses are very different. No university or college will allow this. You have to take fresh admission if you want to do engineering in computer science.

Both the courses have their own value and a good scope in future .

But if we talk about placements and job oppurtunities , then mechanical engineering has an edge over electrical engineering.

Hi Shubhanshu.

I geuss, you may get ME or CE in an IIT, as you have SC category reservation. But, you won't be able to get into TOP or OLD IITs. Still, you may get any other IIT.
