My friend from Lovely Professional University, has told ne that they get a lot of on campus training for the events and this way are exposed to the media world. Such practices help the students to launch a good career.

You can check the web sites of some good colleges like Lovely Professional University, Indraprastha College for Women, New Delhi, St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.etc. to know the academic excellence.

I did my graduation in 43 percent, pl guide for suitable colleges incl private in Pune for Masters in Economics / Sociology / Psychology or

Aman Yadav 9th May, 2019

Greetings Mukesh!

Hope you're doing great.

Congrats on being Graduate! I assume you're interested in a humanities subject either because of passion or preparing for competitive exams like Civil Service. Either be the reason, It's a good choice to take a Master course. It not only open doors to further studies like PhD or MPhil but you'll gain a vast and depth knowledge about the particular subject.

So now coming back to your question, you have two choices to pursue your master either through distance learning provided by eminent institutes like IGNOU, Annamalai University, Manipal etc or you can opt for a full-time campus course. If you're planning for the competitive exam then I'll suggest opting for distance learning courses. It will help you to save a lot of your time and in the meantime, you can dedicate your efforts and energy in preparing for the same. And if you're looking for further studies then the full-time course will be much fruitful.

Once I've lived in Pune and it's a remarkable city with ample opportunities for students. There is institute such as Symbiosis which is one of the best institutes for mass communication and humanities-based subjects. So, if you're planning for Masters in Economics/Sociology/Psychology then this is the Institute for you. However, if you're looking for some other institutes then following is the list:

  • MIT School of Education and Research
  • Deccan Education Society’s Fergusson College (Autonomous)
  • Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)
  • Progressive Education Society's Modern College of Arts
  • St. Mira's College for Girls
  • Fergusson College
  • Deccan College Postgraduate & Research Institute
  • Department of Sociology/Economics/Psychology, Pune University
  • JSPM’s Jaywantrao Sawant College of Education

Hope this will help. Do reach out to individuals college website for more details regarding the admission process, fee and eligibility criteria.

Do reach out in the comment section below in case you need any help, I'll be happy to resolve your queries.

All the best!

Anshu Singh 15th May, 2019

Ishita,

You are already falling into the elligieligi criteria so you need not to worry. The administration makes a cut off list if the applicants and then they are selected on the basis of the marks secured.

You have secured well so there are maximum chances of you to get in. But to be on the safer side do try to fill forms of other colleges as well to avoid a drop year. You can opt for University of Delhi too.

Thank you
