As a creative writer, would it be good to forge into journalism than English honours ?

Shivani Singh 1st May, 2019

English Honours is more about literature whereas journalism is based on the current events.  Forging into journalism will be more beneficial as a content writer as you will have plenty of opportunity to create articles on your own way and style.

Previous year Cut off of dsj programme is not available on dsj website. i keen to know, what was the previous year cut off of dsj programme?

Vidhi 9th Jun, 2019
Hi!

Previous year cutoff data is not available on the official website of Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ), University of Delhi. This is due to the fact that the proposal for setting up a school of Journalism by DU was put put forward in 2017 itself. It was formally inaugurated in December 2017.
So, the second batch was admitted in the year 2018-19.
The cutoff for DU DSJ 2019-20 will depend upon:
1. Total number of applicants
2. Total number of seats
3. Number of seats for unreserved and reserved categories

I will suggest you to check out the following link:

It provides past year merit lists for both english and hindi medium.

What about five year programme in journalism in faculty of social sciences at Delhi university?how many seats in this programme?

snehasinha1718 Student Expert 8th Jun, 2019

Hey Aryan,

Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ) is one of the premiere Journalism Schools in India launched by University of Delhi in 2017.Journalism is just one aspect of it. There is a host of avenues in which one can go, like advertisement, public relations, documentary filmmaking, fiction writing etc.

Though the course will be a five-year integrated programme, according to PTI, a student can quit it after three years with a BA degree.

Applicant should have passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto in any stream, with an aggregate of 50% marks in the qualifying examination determined on the basis of all five subjects offered in the qualifying examination.

Selection/Admission will be based on the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in an Entrance Test. The seats are like for 100-120.

For more information you can visit the the website of dsj for clear idea.

Hope this helps.
