Do doon business school provide pgdm in media and communication management?

Doon Business School is a leading business and management institute established in 2007 in the heart of UttraUttara State, Dehradun.It is ranked Second after IIM- Ahmedabad in Future Orientation Management Programme by MHRD(Ministry of Human resources and development,Govt. Of India).It is a private autonomous institute which comes under the ambit of Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU) and all the courses run by DBS(Doon Business School) are affiliated to UTU).

Interestingly the field of Management,Doon Business School provides PGDM(Post Graduate Diploma in Management) and Master of Business Administration in International Business.

It provides two PGDM courses under the heads PGDM-Global and PGDM+SAP.

Besides these programmes the school also provides for MA in mass communication and Media management and BA in Journalism.

Fee structure for MA in mass communication is 1.44 lakh for two year programme.

Average placements for institute is 4.66 lakh for MA in mass communication and for MBA is 6.78 lakh.

In a pin pointed answer, the Doon Business School does not provide PGDM in mass communication but it does provide MA in mass communication and media management.

Newspapers, radio, television and more recently the new media-internet has completely revolutionized the way news used to broadcast. Journalists have a very significant role to play in this practice.

Career Options with the Print Media

  • Reporter: As a reporter from a newspaper, magazine, news agency, radio or television channel, your job will be to report with speed, clarity, and accuracy. The intellect to distinguish a story and objectivity will be very important in this role.
  • Correspondent/Special Reporter: To be a reporter for a particular purpose, you must have thorough knowledge in a particular field like politics and sports etc. You must also have the ability to read between the lines and explain the news on the basis of your understanding.
  • Feature Writer: A feature writer’s job revolves around writing in-depth stories and observations on specific topics.
  • Leader Writer: They are concerned with putting across their views on news topics through editorial columns only.
  • Proof Reader: Proof Reader’s job is to evaluate and compare proofs with the edited copy. For this job, one must possess skills in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

No there is no course of journalism and mass communication in EFLU  for BA but there is a course for MA.

The forms are released by the end of January.
