Hi,
Medical and allied courses come under NEET. Even for admission in private colleges, one has to score at least the qualifying percentile in NEET (50th percentile)

Sorry to say but 229 score is not enough to get a government MBBS or BDS seat.
Prepare well for next year or opt for other courses.

According your score the chances are less to get a seat under 15% quota seats but you can have the chances for state quota seats. You can also refer below given article for West Bengal cutoff.

The exact cutoff can only be determined once the results and the rank lists are announced. However, as per NEET 2017's trends a score of above 320 should get you a private MBBS college under the 85% state quota and SC category. All the best!
