Talking about the salary packages and all the facilities that couldn't be confirmed for the Public but after selection you will get to know. Talking about pension there is a process where all govt officials are granted pay after retirement or health issues.
In Merchant Navy you have to do work for 4 moths to 9 months continuously without any break on ship.
So in the compensation of this long work time you will get equally long vacations of 2-4 months depends on you that when you want to rejoin the ship.
Hope this helps!!!
hello Dear,
Most of shipping companies don't pay during holidays. They might give something as joining bonus. There are two types of Shipping Companies in the shipping Industry. One who offers the Round the Year wages and Others who offers only for the short term Contractual Period. Round the Year wages means Company will be offering salary for the whole Year irrespective of you are at home or on ship. But the Salary is averaged as per Industry Standards. You have fix contracts like 4 months on & 2 months off and So On. You have another benefits too. However in the other type of Employment you are paid only for the period you have served the company. After that you will not be paid any salary. But salary is high as compared to other one and you are not binding with any company permanently.
Good Luck
