Is AIMNET IS Real or fake ? Please help me?

Souradeep_1559130577 Student Expert 1st Jun, 2019

Hello Shubham,

I do not know from where you got this misconception. Let me clearly state that Indian Merchant Navy is and always will be one of the highest paying jobs you can start doing right after your 12 boards. Eligibility criteria requires that your height is above 5 feet, your vision is 6/6 without colour or night blindness and required medical examination should be done. The next AIMNET is going to be in October 2019 and you may apply from june 2019 in the website link which I will provide here: http://aimnet.net.in/aimnet/index.php

Make no mistake when I say that Merchant navy is one of the best careers you can have especially if you like sea travelling. However it requires you to stay away from home for quite long periods of time which may be reason for homesickness initially.

Good Luck!

I have got 93% in my icse 10th and want to go merchant navy further. Can you guide me what should i do after 10th to get into merchant Navy.

Aryaman Tewari 14th May, 2019
Firstly, you need Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry from any board or school for class 12.

You need to have a good vision. Medical exams are also a must, for screening of your fitness.

And, after class 12, you will have to clear an entrance exam (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test)

and subsequently,  there are a number of private universities providing the course. They train you to become deck cadets etc.
Some courses available to you are Bsc Nautical Science, BSc Marine Engineering, Bsc Petroleum Engineering, BE civil engineering.

If you want to go directly after class 10th, you will have to involve in courses like Near Coastal Voyage, Diploma in Nautical Science, Commerical Diving, GP Rating etc.
