To get admission in merchant navy, you can apply -

IMUCET : The Indian Maritime University conducts IMU CET entrance exam for various undergraduate engineering programmes for the maritime sector in an online mode.

Eligibility - Candidates must have passed their Class XII with an aggregate marks of 60% in Mathematics, Physics and chemistry. Candidates must have scored at least 50% marks in English in Class XII.

Age Limit - (i) Minimum age- 17 years

(ii) Maximum age- 25 years

Registration : Application window will be open in the last week of March 2018.

In order to study for merchant navy you can appear in IMU CET or AIMNET entrance exam. 

In order to study for marine engineering you can go for B.tech programme. You can appear for JEE (Main+Advanced), BITSAT, VIT, SRM, Manipal and Amrita.

In order to join merchant navy it is important that you want to join in which department. 

If you are interested in deck officer you can do B.Sc in nautical science or you can do diploma course.

To become a engineer in you do BE/Btech course in Marine Engineering.
