The closing rank for ECE at Manipal University after 5th round were 5560 for 2018 and 4079 for the year 2017.

Based on previous year cutoffs, I think you may not get ECE at Manipal with 8857 rank.

However, you may get Civil, Aeronautical and many other branches.

Once the result is declared, MET 2019 cutoff will be released by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), previously known as Manipal University. The cutoff will be announced by each MET 2019 participating college separately depending on the courses and degrees it offers

You wont be getting CSE/IT at Manipal Institute, Manipal Campus. However, you have chances of getting CSE/IT at Sikkim Campus. Cutoffs vary every year. This information is solely based on the cutoff trends in previous years.

First of all, congrats for such a good rank.

Except Aeronautics, (little bit chances of CSE)and rest you have good number of chances for other steams.

“ Manipal has three Engineering branches in India.

The Mahe or Manipal at Udupi district in Karnataka (Almost 63 Km from Mangaluru), which is the main center of Manipal group in India. You can take admission at Bengaluru through MUT Exam and through your Mains cutoff rank.

For MUT, if your rank is under 25k you can have the higher chances of being selected for the counselling. During my admission, the CSE Branch and Aeronautics was closed at around 8k and 4–5k respectively.

Now, Let us talk about other branches,

Jaipur: You can opt for the stream through the MUT EXAM, Jaipur offline exam and through Mains marks.

Sikkim: You can opt for the various streams through MUT, SMIT Offline test and through Mains marks.

If you failed to opt for your desired stream, you can even change it after first year. The official criteria is like top 10 student can change the branch or something like that but unofficially any student can change it even they have the backlogs (The only condition - There must be a vacant seat in that particular stream).”
