How is he placement scenario in Mtech Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in IITs/IISc?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 2nd Jul, 2020

hi,

see the placement is good for iisc or old iits like iit kharagpur, iit delhi, iit bombay, iit kanpur, students get placement in core companies which are closely related with materials science,

however for new iits the placement scenario is not good for core engineering branches, students wither go for teaching lines or may appear in IT companies different consultant position job roles.

which branch is better environmental engineering or metallurgical and materials engineering???

Aastha jain 3rd Jun, 2020

Hi Alpesh

In terms of future scope, environmental engineering is a growing branch, and metallurgical engineering a slow declining branch . Because of rising concerns surrounding climate change, more and more engineers are needed by the public and private organisations that are skilled in energy and waste management. Policy makers too require the expertise of these engineers/specialists to make more nature friendly decisions
