Metallurgy
Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned that you have got integrated max chemistry in nit Rourkela and metallurgy in nit Rourkela so I would recommend you not to join the msc chemistry and kindly go with the normal 4 year b.tech course.
Because in one college if you would spend five years there won't be any personal development. And if you do not want to do msc then you should not go but if you are interested in this line only then opt for it.

Hi,
Congratulations for your such rank. Hope you are doing great.
See, whatever you will choose, you will have to study it at least for next 4 years and you have to work on that through the rest of your life. So, I will advise you to choose according to your choice and liking on subject.
Now, if you look over other criteria, then NIT Trichy is the top NIT. But there you just get lower branch like Production. Students also take Metallurgy to be a lower branch. But due to that thought, it has been seen that now a days, there are a lot of vacancies remaining on Metallurgy in different companies. So I think it to be a great opportunity. Now, chemical, electrical and other core branches which you are getting in other NITs, are very good. Though core branches are evergreen branches, you must know that students of core branches have very poor opportunities in case of placement.
So think about all these criteria one by one. Talk to your guardians, if possible, then talk to seniors also who have studied engineering or are currently studying. And last but not the least, don't forget to think about your passion for a particular stream. Don't worry.
Hope this helps. All the best.

Hello aspirant,
Hope you are doing well.
To be honest, metallurgy has no scope these days. Hardly companies come to hire a true metallurgical engineer. You again anyhow have to try your hands on coding if you want to get a high package job. However I feel doing an MSc in Chemistry would be a better option. Because if later,:
Hope that you got the answer to your question. Feel free to comment back incase of any doubts. All the Best!

Hello aspirant ,
If you are interested in electronics then my opinion is that you should choose ece branch (ece nit Srinagar) Because nowadays the scope in ece is increasing.
Also Civil branch is a good one (civil nit Agartala) If you don't mind for living other city for 4 years.
These are just suggestions, if you are interested in the rest of your preferences, you can also consider it.
All the best for your Future !
As you have mentioned that you are confused between the above mentioned colleges so I would like to tell you that metallurgy branch is three of these colleges is more or less same in terms of placements.
But I would recommend you to join nit jaipur as it's considered to be a good nit in terms of placements, infrastructure, faculty. Lastly, it's your choice you can join nit Durgapur also if it's near your home.

Hello Aspirant,
Different domains like NIRF rank, placements, faculty, infrastructure, facilities, courses offered and student reviews of NIT Warangal and CBIT are as follows,
NIT Warangal
CBIT
But focusing on the domains CSE is ideal as fetching a job is not easy in Metallurgical field and the number of jobs are less and you have to attempt GATE if you want a jo in Govt. sector. It becomes hectic for you to manage two different domains parallelyif you opt Metallurgy. But if it is CSE it becomes easy for you to get along with coding. But atlast choosing a college is subjective as opting a good college is important but CBIT is also among the top colleges in Hyderabad. Make sure you opt a domain based upon your intersts.

Hi Vivek,
The Metallurgy department in IIT Patna is quite a new branch. Moreover it is difficult to judge the placement scenario for so new a branch based on past details. Perhaps at the same rank, you might be making into Metallurgical Engineering at IIT BBSR, or Mining Machinery or Environmental at IIT ISM Dhanbad or Ceramic Engineering at IIT BHU. These have better placement prospects, you can try for these.
In case, you're not making any, you might consider IIT Patna for Metallurgy.
Hope this helps.
