My jenpauh 2019 general rank is 1208 and sc rank is 130. Is there any chance to get a govt college in kolkata? Plz ans.

srinja.006_9773413 Student Expert 3rd Aug, 2019

Hello Aspirant.

Going for Government colleges might not be fruitful as the total number of seats alotted for BSC Nursing is about 325 seats and given your rank, it might not be possible for you to get a seat in them. Belonging to a reserved category might be helpful though but the chances are not high even then.

If you want, you can try for private colleges with your rank.

I am listing below the names of some private colleges along with the number of seats they have :-

  • Institute of Paramedical & Therapeutic Sciences & technology : 40 seats
  • Nopany Institute of Health Care Studies : 40 seats
  • Haldia Institute of Health Care Sciences Haldi, Purba Medinipur : 40 seats
  • College of Physiotherapy (Peerless Hospital) : 10 seats
  • Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences (RKM) : 10 seats
  • Burdwan Institute of Medical & Life Sciences : 30 seats

Hope that helped.

All the best!

My jenpauh rank is 4880 ...and my category is general ....can i get a government college in west bengal???

nimrat17799_9532496 Student Expert 6th Aug, 2019
Hello,

As you have mentioned that your jenpauh rank is 4880 which indeed is somewhat high.. See, only few students get admission in the government nursing colleges through jenpauh because its cutoff goes somewhat lower(rank wise). A maximum of 1500 students get admission.. And as you mentioned that you fall under general category, which eventually decreases your chances of getting any government college in the West bengal state.  But if you hold the state domicile then you have sone chances of getting a seat under 85% state quota seats.. And if you hold ews reservation, then it would be more beneficial for you, as 10% of seats are reserved in each state for the ews reservation candidates...Moreover, your chances of getting a seat also depends upon the number of seats available in any particular college...

Hope for the good to happen!!!!

Wish you all the best!!!!

I hope this would help you. For further queries please feel free to write me down in the comment box.

Is a cut off marks decided or cut off rank decided in jenpauh?

Himanshu Vashith 2nd Aug, 2019

Hello there. It's always the marks which decides the marks and on the basis of your marks your rank is being decided. So for jenpauh it cutoff marks rather than any rank.

My sc rank is 225 and my score is 102.25 in jenpauh. Am I eligible to get governmental college? Kindly answer this question.

srinja.006_9773413 Student Expert 2nd Aug, 2019

Hello Ankita.

It would have been better if you would have mentioned your general rank along with this query so that I could give you suggestions. You will be given a seat based on your general rank and belonging to a special category just gives you the advantage of reserved seats. I would suggest you to comment down below the name of the entrance so that I can help you further.
