hi,
see you donot need o study from any particular branch to become an IAS office, candidates having graduation degree in any of the stream are eligible to apply for civil service exam conducts by upsc. now coming to your graduation course I would recommend you to choose biotechnology since it has wide research scope and work opportunity in different medicine manufacturing and fmgc company in india. however the final decision is yours to take as per your interest for the subject.
No it is not possible for you to do Msc in microbiology because your subject combination has no relation with Microbiolog. Bsc in zoology, life science, Botany are subjects after which you can change field into Microbiology.
I suggest you to do something in Chemistry or Physics based on your choice.
Thank you and all the best.

Hey Richa
Which is better amongst industrial microbiology or medical microbiology is entirely dependent on your interest. According to me industrial microbiology is better because it will provide you a job sooner. Industries like cosmetics and pharmaceuticals look for people with industrial microbiology degree. Moreover in the coming times almost evverything will be impacted hugely by microbiology. If you are really interested to contribute to some work/research that has immediate industrial/domestic application then this is the branch you should choose.
