Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) conducts the common admission test (cat) for admission to various courses.
The syllabus of Aptitude Test for Microbiology for cusat cat includes graduation level Botany, Zoology, microbiology, biotechnology and environmental science.
There shall be 150 objective type questions in the following pattern at the Graduate level:
50% - Microbiology,
15% -Botany,
15% - Zoology,
15% - Bio-Technology,
5% - Environment Sciences.

Bachelor of Science in Microbiology is a full time 3 years undergraduation level course in Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi.
The candidate should have passed 10+2 from any recognised institution/ board or any other equivalent examination to be eligible to take admission in this course.
The total fees for this course in Kamaraj College is around INR 21,000.

BSC medical includes zoology, botany and chemistry.
In any field whether it is BSC Microbiology or medical microbiology, I think for better job opportunities or career you should opt for post graduation otherwise pay is very less .
If you work in private Institutions or private laboratories, you will not be paid more than
10- 12 thousands.
So you can go for any stream , it doesn't make much difference in choosing microbiology or medical microbiology but for bright future do msc or M.D. in any of these streams.
Following is the eligibility to apply for M.Sc agriculture microbiology at TNAU -
Graduates who have successfully completed four year undergraduate degree program (specified below) and awarded by any one of the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs)/ Colleges affiliated to SAUs/Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs)/ICAR Deemed Universities/Central Universities with Agriculture Faculty listed by ICAR/ any other institutes accredited by NAEAB (ICAR) alone are eligible to apply for Masters program.
Those who have completed following courses are eligible to apply for M.Sc agricultural microbiology -
B.Sc.(Ag.)
B.Sc.(Hort.)
B.Sc.(Forestry)
B.Tech.(Hort.)
B.Sc.(Sericulture)
and B.Tech.(Ag.Biotech) , B.Tech.(Biotech.)

M.Sc microbiology is a two year post graduation course. It's full form is master of science in microbiology. Usually post graduation courses or masters courses are done after completing the graduation. Yoy can not apply for M.Sc microbiology after 12th.
So you need to do B.Sc in biological sciences or microbiology then you can apply to M.Sc microbiology.
Few institutions provide integrated B.Sc -M.Sc course which one can do after 12th. So you can opt for that.

see mhrd provides gate scholarship and after you join in any institute your scholarship procedure will be though that particular institute, scholarship stipends is slightly differ of iits, nits and state government college. for mtech students scholarship is 12, 400, however gate is not a fellow ship exam, after qualifying gate exam if you join phd in iits or iiser you will get 25000 as stipends as JRF, for SRF it is 28000.
