I am a cbse class 11 student.I have my term 1 music exam on 27 sep and to be honest I didnt have any idea about what to do and what not.If someone can help me out and tell me how can I prepare for it since the theory portion will be of 15 marks only and 15 marks goes out for practical.

Sourav Sarkar 7th Dec, 2021

Dear Richa,

You need not be tensed for your 11th grade (CBSE) music exam. As you said your music exam will consist of two parts:

THOREY EXAM (15 MARKS)

Theory is a written test which involves instruments, notes, history of music, meanings, etc. Start preparing 2 months before your exams by downloading practice papers from the Internet and have your teacher assess them.

PRACTICAL EXAM (15 MARKS)

Practical generally involves scales, pieces and selected exercises. Adhering to its name, practice is required to ace such an exam. Practice for at least 45 minutes every day for honest practice to yield good results.

Wishing you all the best.
