If i only qualify sectional cut off in NDA written exam can I will be called for SSB ?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 18th Apr, 2022

Hello,

To get shortlisted for SSB interview you must score the sectional cut off marks as well as overall cut off marks in NDA Entrance Examination. The sectional cut off marks is constant every year but the overall cut off marks changes every year. The minimum marks that you need to score in each subject is 25%. The overall expected cut off marks for NDA 2022 is in between 349-359 marks. Cut off depends on total number of vacancies, total number of candidates applied etc. To get admission in to NDA you must score the cut off marks specified for NDA written exam and SSB Interview (out off 1800) and you must clear the Medical Examination. Why We need to prepare NDA and JEE ADVANCED Syllabus Seperate Whereas the Syllabus OF both the Exam is only from class 11th 10th 9th 12th. So why we dont focus on current Syllabus?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 15th Apr, 2022

Hi

You need to prepare separately for JEE ADVANCED and  NDA because,

-------------------) Both has different examination pattern.

-------------------) Syllabus is different:- Jee advanced syllabus is 11th and 12th ncert syllabus of Physics, chemistry and maths while in NDA you also have geography history etc as a part of GAT paper.

-------------------) In both NDA & JEE advanced there's maths but difficulty level of JEE ADVANCED maths is way more than that of NDA.

NDA syllabus:- https://competition.careers360.com/articles/nda-syllabus/amp

JEE ADVANCED SYLLABUS:- https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-syllabus/amp

If you prepare for jee advanced then you don't need to separately prepare maths, physics, chemistry for NDA while you need to prepare other subjects like geography, English etc for NDA separately.

How to Prepare For NDA Online .

Lasya Suryanarayanan 18th Apr, 2022

Hi,

Based on my experience, I can say that you can easily clear the NDA written exam if you prepare with a positive approach and well planned manner. I cannot impose my itinerary on you but, I would like to share how I planned my preparations. As you know, the first step is our written exam and we need to clear it to proceed to the SSB interview. Investing the majority of your time in preparing for it is advisable. Prepare in a smart way, like:

  • Clear your basic concepts by sincerely following NCERT text books.

  • As soon as you complete a topic try to take a test and do a self assessment.

  • Keep revisiting the topics already covered before you start a new topic.

  • You should practice previous years' question papers to analyze your preparation.

  • Effective time management is very important as you need to solve all questions within the stipulated time.

  • Last but not least, approach your exam with confidence and a positive attitude.

These are just a few of the points which I followed for myself. Apart from these points, I suggest you take good online classes at your comfort to cover the syllabus in a well organized way. Numerous websites and online coaching institutes are providing us with online coaching. I personally utilized the coaching provided by Unacademy and have opted for the Iconic subscription (https://unacademy.com/goal/nda/DANNJ) which really helped me with their live classes. The structured syllabus helped me to cover the syllabus in very little time and also in an organized way. The most helpful one was the mock tests which helped me to prepare for the exam in a better way, I could clearly analyze my performance where I had to invest more effort. Finally, Unacademy provides this subscription at a nominal price compared to other learning platforms. I have just shared my point of view.  I hope they stand helpful to you.

Good luck!!
