I got 71 percentile in JEE MAINS paper 2, what would be my possible rank and will gt into NITC? I am going to appear for the next attempt also

bhumikarchie 17th Aug, 2021

Hello aspirant

I am really sorry to say that but with percentile getting admission in NIT Calicut is not possible . Last year the closing rank for NITC was 28,467 for bio technology . And according to your percentile your predicted rank is 296670-333500. So you should rather try to work hark for the upcoming mains and try to boost up your percentile

Wish you All the very best!

How much percentile should an st category student should get in jee mains paper 2 b arch to get admission in NIT Calicut or NIT Trichy?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 16th Aug, 2021

Hello,

Last year the cut off rank for admission to Architecture in round 6 was as follows for ST category under other state quota for the preferred NITs

  • National Institute of Technology Calicut: 66
  • National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli: 65

Considering the previous year cut off you need to secure a rank (category rank) around 65. To secure such rank you need to score minimum 98-99 percentile or above in JEE Main. Cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

I secured 70% in jee mains i belong to ST Category (Telangana state) will i get any branch in any NIT in the last round of CSAB counselling.? also tell the minimum percentile i should score to get a National Institute of Technology ?

Arhana Chakraborty 16th Aug, 2021
In NIT in is difficult to get as per your percentage . The sc minimum present is 75 % in his or her board exam and jee main also need 75%

The college cutoff is  9090 to 11000 rank for sc

In india NIT doesn't take under 75% students

So it is better you can get chance into other college or prepare your self and try next time .

You can aslo predict your rank and predict your college

I got 98.42 percentile. I am from general (ews).I am from andhra pradesh. I am a boy. can I get ece in nit durgapur, nit bhopal, nit nagpur, nit calicut.

Abhishek Roy 15th Aug, 2021

With 98.42 Percentile in JEE Main, your CRL will be anywhere between 17-18k, with an estimated EWS Rank around 3.5k. At this EWS Rank, you have moderate to fair chances in securing ECE at NIT Patna, NIT Agartala, NIT Puducherry and NIT Andhra Pradesh (Home State), Many IIITs like Kota, Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Pune as well as at Top GFTIs like PEC Chandigarh, BIT Mesra and IIEST Shibpur, all of which have excellent academics and placements as far as ECE is concerned.

Hi, since you have got 96.68 percentile which is good in JEE Mains so according to your question you can easily get NIT, Calicut. But you may get to face some problems while selecting branch as it is possible that you won't get Computer Science or Information Technology branch but rest you can get easily.

Hi, I got 87.76 Percentile in Jee Mains. Iam in Gen-Ews Category. My Homestate Is Kerala. Is it possible for me to get into NIT Calicult, ECE branch... last year EWS cut off for ECE in NIT Calicut was something about 37000. Is It possible for me... plss Reply

ktarakadivvya 10th Aug, 2021

Hi Aspirant,

As you got 87.76 percentile in JEE mains, your expected rank will be 125215 - 140760. The previous years cut-off ranks for NIT Calicut in ECE stream under EWS category is 36406. Although the cut-off ranks will changes every year, the difference wouldn't be more comparitively ( may varies around 20000).

Here your expected is much farther than previous cut-off rank. So from my personal aspect this would be hard to get admission in NIT Calicut.

To know the possibile college admissions you will get based on your JEE rank in your desired branch, use our JEE college predictor tool:

My son scored 64percentile in Jee mains ,& belongs to ST .Is there any chance of getting admission into nit Calicut?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 8th Aug, 2021

Hi

With  64  percentile

Your st rank will be around 10k

It's quite to make prediction but when we go through previous year trend then

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, last rank for gender-neutral  for st category in NIT Calicut was for Bio Technology (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) which is given below:-

  • Home state :- 16983 st rank

  • Other state :- 289 st rank

So, with your rank you have chance only if you have home state quota

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Under other state quota,

You need at least a rank of around 3500 st rank to get into even lower NITs in lower branches like Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering in Nit Agartala i. e tleast around 81 percentile.

This  prediction is on the basis of past year cut off data but  cut closing rank changes every year depending upon  number of candidates that write jee main examination, difficulty level of the question paper for different shifts of jee main etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

To improve your score in your  remaining attempts of JEE main you should focus on your preparation go through previous year question papers ,mock test papers and to help you in your preparation we have jee main knockout out for you, for which  is provided below

72 percentile in jee mains can I get top Gftis I belongs to ST category

Anurag Khanna 7th Aug, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

As per the data you have mentioned in your question, the expected figure for you are :-

-->> CRL Rank - 286440 - 322000

-->> OBC Rank - 15000-16000

You can check out marks Vs CRL ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

On the basis of above figures you can go for the enlisted colleges only if you deserve Home state quota for them otherwise you should go with private colleges :-

  • Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar - Computer Science and Engineering (27,269)
  • National Institute of Technology Calicut - Bio Technology (16983)
  • National Institute of Technology Agartala - Mechanical Engineering (37250)
  • National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh - Mechanical Engineering (17763)

And some more. You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the official website of JOSAA as given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above list is merely a prediction which has been made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of either JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India on the basis of your JEE-Main 2021 result :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

You can also check out the expected JEE-Main 2021 cut-off and predict whether you have any chances to get qualified for JEE-Advance 2021 or not, so it is given below :-

** Common Rank List (CRL) - 90- 95 Percentile

** GEN-EWS - 70- 75 Percentile

** Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 70- 75 Percentile

** Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50- 55 Percentile

** Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 40- 45 Percentile

** PwD - 1-2 Percentile

Being a St candidate you have decent chances to get qualified for JEE-Advance 2021.

You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-

I hope this information helps you.
