Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned that you have got 96.2 in the first mains and you want to take up cse so let me tell you that your predicted rank would be somewhat around 38k-40k as per my calculations.
So in this rank if you belong to general category then it's difficult to get cse branch in any of good nits like Jamshedpur, durgapur,Silchar, allahabad, rourkela but you may hope if your home state belongs to one of these like Srinagar,Agartala, mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh.

Greetings of the day dear aspirant

Hello,
It is quite difficult to predict the percentile score to get admission in the preferred NITs in B.Arch because the cut off changes every year depending on the number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. And the cut off for each Institute is different. Here is the last year cut off for admission to B.Arch in the preferred NITs under OBC-NCL Other state quota in round 6
You can find the cut off using the link below
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-b-arch-b-planning
h ttps://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx (https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx)
Considering the previous year cut off you need to score minimum 96-98 percentile or above in JEE Main. This is an estimated percentile score.
To know the colleges in which you have chances of getting seat you may use our Architecture College predictor tool

Dear student,
I am not so sure what your exactly the question is. Are you asking that the syllabus of first semester in NIT Calicut is interrelated to intermediate syllabus that you came across in 11th and 12th?
If I am assuming wrong then let me know in the comment section.
See, yes, some of the syllabus are interrelated to 11th and 12th, for example there will a subject called 'Basic ECE' , in this you will have the same semiconductor syllabus in first year with little upgradation and then in Mathematics too, you will find many things similar.
If you will have chemistry then there too you will find similarities.
You can check the full first year B.Tech syllabus of NIT Calicut by going through the link below which is officially released by NIT Calicut.

If you are looking for a better college to choose among the both which you have mentioned than i would say that NIT Surathkal is the first of the students due it’s records and also it is one of the oldest and famous NIT in India. Now in terms of ranking also NIT surathkal has ranking of 44 where as NIT Calicut has a ranking of 66 which tells that NIT surathkal is little higher. The placement and company visit is also you can find more in NIT Surathkal as compare to NIT Calicut hence, from this all factors now you can surely make a better decision.
Thank you..
As we go through the latest cut-offs of 2020 then it shows that the closing ST rank was 905 for Civil branch in NIT Calicut under Other state quota for ST category.
