National Institute of Technology Calicut
Hi, since you have got 96.68 percentile which is good in JEE Mains so according to your question you can easily get NIT, Calicut. But you may get to face some problems while selecting branch as it is possible that you won't get Computer Science or Information Technology branch but rest you can get easily.
All the best.
Thank You.
Hi Aspirant,
As you got 87.76 percentile in JEE mains, your expected rank will be 125215 - 140760. The previous years cut-off ranks for NIT Calicut in ECE stream under EWS category is 36406. Although the cut-off ranks will changes every year, the difference wouldn't be more comparitively ( may varies around 20000).
Here your expected is much farther than previous cut-off rank. So from my personal aspect this would be hard to get admission in NIT Calicut.

Hi
With 64 percentile
your rank will be around 368280 - 414000 as per our rank predictor at https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
Your st rank will be around 10k
It's quite to make prediction but when we go through previous year trend then
In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, last rank for gender-neutral for st category in NIT Calicut was for Bio Technology (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) which is given below:-
Home state :- 16983 st rank
Other state :- 289 st rank
So, with your rank you have chance only if you have home state quota
You can check the same at
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
Under other state quota,
You need at least a rank of around 3500 st rank to get into even lower NITs in lower branches like Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering in Nit Agartala i. e tleast around 81 percentile.
This prediction is on the basis of past year cut off data but cut closing rank changes every year depending upon number of candidates that write jee main examination, difficulty level of the question paper for different shifts of jee main etc so

Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned that you have got 96.2 in the first mains and you want to take up cse so let me tell you that your predicted rank would be somewhat around 38k-40k as per my calculations.
So in this rank if you belong to general category then it's difficult to get cse branch in any of good nits like Jamshedpur, durgapur,Silchar, allahabad, rourkela but you may hope if your home state belongs to one of these like Srinagar,Agartala, mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh.
For more information you can check out the link given below-
Greetings of the day dear aspirant
The cutoff trends changes every year and it depends on the number of students appearing in the examination, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc.
The closing rank for Mechanical Branch in NIT, Calicut was 30,715 for Home state quota male candidate in the year 2020. For other state male candidates the cutoff was 15,509. The above mentioned cutoffs are for General/Open Category Candidates. If you get a rank under these mentioned cutoff then you'll be able to secure a Mechanical seat in NIT, Calicut

Hello,
It is quite difficult to predict the percentile score to get admission in the preferred NITs in B.Arch because the cut off changes every year depending on the number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. And the cut off for each Institute is different. Here is the last year cut off for admission to B.Arch in the preferred NITs under OBC-NCL Other state quota in round 6
You can find the cut off using the link below
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-b-arch-b-planning
h ttps://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx (https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx)
Considering the previous year cut off you need to score minimum 96-98 percentile or above in JEE Main. This is an estimated percentile score.
To know the colleges in which you have chances of getting seat you may use our Architecture College predictor tool

Dear student,
I am not so sure what your exactly the question is. Are you asking that the syllabus of first semester in NIT Calicut is interrelated to intermediate syllabus that you came across in 11th and 12th?
If I am assuming wrong then let me know in the comment section.
See, yes, some of the syllabus are interrelated to 11th and 12th, for example there will a subject called 'Basic ECE' , in this you will have the same semiconductor syllabus in first year with little upgradation and then in Mathematics too, you will find many things similar.
If you will have chemistry then there too you will find similarities.
You can check the full first year B.Tech syllabus of NIT Calicut by going through the link below which is officially released by NIT Calicut.
http://www.nitc.ac.in/academics/ug/syllabus/B.Tech_First_year_Syllabi_2010_Admission_onwards.pdf
How if talk in brief then below are the subjects you will be going through in first year.
Below I am mentioning the major syllabus part of Computer science 1st year.
I hope this answer helps you.
