i get 90.39 percentile in jee main 2020....and i am from general category....can i get any nit college or my home nit Durgapur

Rishikesh Shandilya 18th Jan, 2020
Hello Arindam,

Scoring a percentile of 90.39 you rank will be around 83511 it is calculated by using the formula
(100-percentile)number of appeared candidate 100
With this rank you don't get any NITs,IIITs, GFTIS, but you may have a chance in CSAB in the lower NITS and GFTIS.

How would you rate NIT Durgapur,IIEST Shibpur,Jadavpur University and IIT Kharagpur out of 10?

apuroop sri durgesh 9th Dec, 2019

Hello Pratik, NIT durgapur lacks infrastructural facilities and Jadavpur University lacks hostel facility. IIT Kharagpur has more advantages than all the remaining ones. IIEST shibpur is better for people opting research, placement wise NIT durgapur is better than IIEST but not better than IIT. The atmosphere at Jadavpur University is not so good, IIEST shibpur has good enivorment. So the order of preference is IIT kharagpur > NIT Durgapur > IIEST Shibpur > Jadhav university.

The ratings you asked for would be -

IIT Kharagpur- 9

NIT Durgapur- 8

IIEST Shibpur-7

Jadhav University -6

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

Will joining NIT Durgapur prove fruitful to me or shall I opt for a partial drop for going to Jadavpur University or IIT Kharagpur?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 8th Dec, 2019
Hello,

There is no denial that NIT Durgapur is not a good colleges of course it is because it is one of the NITs.
But if you have the privileges to drop and you and your family are okay with this decision and also if you are 100% sure and you have confidence on yourself that you will get into the IITs that next time then you can opt to drop but if you are not sure then i would say don't take a risk.

I hope this helps.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 6th Nov, 2019

hi,

see artificial intelligence  and internet of things are new cutting edge technologies. any stream of btech students can pursue this. as it is new in industry thats why it may not included in any colleges cse syllabus. now come to  computer networking, it is included in cse, ece, electrical, IT, applied electronics branches syllabus of btech. there is no computer science courses in india with the specialization in the mentioned subjects of yours. computer science engineering is a 4 year course and you will get opportunity to learn many things including AI, IOT, computer networking etc.

hope you may understand.
