Hii, you can get NIT Durgapur in open category. I have mentioned below the branches that you can expect to get with their last year cutoffs-

• Mechanical engineering-26479
• Civil engineering- 26992
• Information technology- 12923 [2017 cutoff]
• Electrical engineering - 18148
• Chemical engineering -17159
• Materials and metallurgical engineering-20615

The exam pattern of jnu entrance exam 2019 for Msc in physics is based on the most parts of physics at BSc level .You are suggested to  prepare yourself for the questions related to physical chemistry and mathematics at BSc (general ) level ,and also go through other model papers or sample papers for well preparation and getting admission in the college .Hope this information is helpful.

   If I go through the college rankings, then obviously NIT Durgapur is much better than NIT Silchar. NIT durgapur will provide you good infrastructure as well as experienced faculty in comparison to NIT Silchar. But if I consider salary then in most cases CSE guy earns more than Electrical Engineer. But if you want better infrastructure and experienced professors then go for NIT Durgapur. You can perform well in the first year then you will get a chance to change your branch, but remember for this you really have to work hard in the college.

• companies like belzabar, samsung, TCS, Paytm ect also picked up students.

Talking about NIT durgapur, the average package varies from department to department, and is around 6-7 LPA.

The average may be as hgh as 8-10LPA for the top 20% students.

Choice is yours, choose wisely.
