Dear Megha, Automotive Design Engineering is an undergraduate level engineering course which trains the students on a range of topics including designing, manufacturing, and maintenance of automobiles. Many automotive designers hold at least a bachelor's degree in industrial or automotive design. Students who earn an associate's degree in a relevant field can find work as automotive or mechanical drafters. So yes, if you study B. Tech in Automobile design, you can design cars.

Hii The Rank list and cutoffs for admissions to NITs both are yet to be released and will be declared only after the april session exam . So as such it is not possible to say what your category rank will be and will you get into NIT . But as per the previous year trends and information collected from the various coaching institutes , Careers360 has prepared a Rank Predictor tool to help candidates get an idea of where they stand . After using the predictor as per the information provided by you , i can say that your estimated rank will be as follows - probable General rank will be 323,727 - 363,727 and probable category rank range will be 21520 – 23120 . Please be informed this is just a prediction and not any confirmed result , you need to wait till april for the final rank list to be announced . The final result would vary as the number of students would increase in the april session . Also your percentile score might change if you appear in both the sessions . You can yourself use the Rank predictor for your satisfaction , from the following link https://engineering.careers360.com/percentile-predictor-result/1094?s=79686651621548234226 Also this tool will help you predict whether you might be eligible for JEE Advance or not , but that too is only for the purpose of reference . For knowing about the college you can get , you can use our college predictor tool with follwing link - https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor As per previous years cutoff , if you are from genera category , it is a bit difficult to get into NITs , but you might get admission based on SC Category reservation . But again this is not confirmed thing and just a prediction. If you are not satisfied with your scores , you still stand a chance to improve your score by appearing in april session. The best of the two scores will be used for those who appear in both the sessions of JEE Mains . Once again i am informing that the above mentioned rank is only the prediction , and just for the reference purpose , and that you need to wait for official announcements which would be made in the month of april after the April session of JEE Mains is conducted and the scores of both January and April session are compliled together . Hope this helps Thanks !
Hello. Your probable rank will be 155,679 - 175,679 and your probable category rank range will be 47348 - 54848.
It is difficult to comment on which college you will be getting till the April exam concludes because it will depend on the tot no. of students appearing for the exam and best of two attempts of candidates who are appearing twice.
From previous years cutoff trends I can expect that you might qualify for JEE Advanced.
Hope this helps. For any other questions please feel free to comment down below.
Hello Mrinal
81.88 percentile is not that bad but yes it can help you in getting Nit's being a ST category. Cutoff's are still not out but you can calculate your rank by sing one simple formula suppose 874469 are the number of candidates appeared for the January exam. So rank formula is (100- your total score) * 874469 / 100. This will give you the approx rank and hence you can relate with the previous years cutoffs including category rank wise.
Hello Sagar. You have a decent score. It means that almost 14.68% of the total no. of students who appeared in the exam are ahead of you. (Tot. students- 874469)
It is difficult to tell if you will be getting nit college now since your percentile and rank may differ because it depends on the tot. no. of students appearing in the April exam. NTA will release the Overall merit list based on the no. of students appeared and best of two attempts of the students appearing twice. So to know your exact rank and a particular college cutoff you need to wait until the April exam ends.
But for now you can check your rank from the below formula.
Rank - (100-percentile score)*(874469/100)
But this is oviously not your final rank as it will be different if the total no. of students appearing in the April exam changes (most oviously no. of students appearing in April will be higher).
But from the previous cutoff I can tell you that any rank below 2,00,000 will get you qualified to sit for JEE Advanced.
