Should I opt for nit goa mechanical engineering or nit Andhra Pradesh cse or ece?

muskan pardasani 18th Jun, 2019

Hello dear

Well, choosing between the two to a larger extent depends on your field of interest. If you are interested in deep coding stuff, then go for cse, or if you fantasize machines, go for mechanical then. Or if you have a neutral perspective, then go for mechanical at NIT Goa, the reason being-
NIT Goa has a better rank than the other option( AAAA- NIT Goa's rank, AAA+ - NIT AP, these ranks have been given by Careers360). NIT AP is a new NIT, thus it is at its developing stage, so it is quite obvious that you will have better plcement statistics at NIT Goa( alumni plays a role here). Moreover, even if you take mechanical, you could learn coding and programming and data structures all by yourself, there's no kind of branch restriction when it comes to placements, you can sit for non- core company interviews as well. And simultaneously you have the knowledge of mechanical field as well. Just this would require a little bit of extra effort. Also, it won't be a great campus life at NIT Andhra Pradesh( on it's way to make it better).
I hope this helps you. Choose wisely based on what you prefer. Ask any other doubts if you have.
Good luck!!

How is nit goa for mechanical engineering?

Sharmakeshav63652_9487666 Student Expert 18th Jun, 2019
Hello dear aspirant

As your question is related to NIT Goa and you are willing to know about how is  mechanical engineering in NIT Goa so here we are providing the complete information related to the mechanical branch in NIT Goa

NIT Goa will provide you with manymore opportunities. You will get ample amount of time to do research and publish papers where you will get an opportunity to work under the guidance of some highly qualified professors. On the other hand, you will spend a major part of your time in GEC worrying about the huge amount of irrelevant topics in you're
syllabus. You will get ample amount of time to pursue
an internship if you are in NIT Goa.
Internships are an integral aspect of you're
academic life. The academic calendar of GEC
which comes under the Goa University
provides very less time to pursue an internship Companies like Barclay Card USA, Amazon,
Samsung, LnT Infotech, Polaris, AQ, Mu Sigma come to the institute for campus placements. If you prefer joining Infosys or companies like Mahindra ,Suzuki, and other mechanical core companies also visit the campus so you can expect your placement with a good package

Hope I have resolved y our query in case of any other doubt you can get back to us

i have got 104432 rank in jee mains and 89% in 12th , can i get admission in nit goa in cse branch (btech) ?

Nikhil Pareek 16th Jun, 2019

Hello Raghav,

You have some good score but i am afraid that you might not be able to secure a seat in any branch of NIT Goa if you do not have Goa as your domicile.

The cutoff rank for previous years is quite lower compared to your rank. So it may not be possible for you to secure a seat.

You can check the cutoffs of various NITs using below provided link.

For nit OBC rank 5104 can I get ECE in nit Goa ?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 8th Jun, 2019

You can definitely get ECE in NIT Goa as their closing rank for general category students lie somewhere near 7500. So considering that you fall in OBC category you have high chances of getting into the college. Moreover you have a pretty decent rank so you can check out other NITs also like Durgapur or Jamshedpur.

Good luck
