Dear Aspirant,
NIT Hamirpur is one of the best National Institutes of Technology and is known for its astute teaching faculty and skill oriented education.
As far as choosing one of the two courses from the very same Institute i.e. ECE BTech or ECE BTech+Mtech ( dual degree ),the difference is really not much. Here, I can point you out some differences that you may or may not like.
In terms of fee structure, the Dual degree shall cost you more as compared to a regular BTech degree. Furthermore, it shall take you another year to complete your course from NIT Hamirpur ( as dual degree is 5years) as compared to the normal BTech degree( which is 4 years). Another flaw in this aspect is that when you choose your dual degree after 12th, you shall be given a permanent post graduation program after BTech. In other words, you won't have options to choose your post graduation program. If you choose a regular BTech, you will have the choice of picking from range of options of post graduation programmes.
The good aspect about a dual degree is that you will have the qualification of both graduation and post graduation within 5 years which normally shall cost you 6years or more ( depending on your performance in GATE exam). So, this way not only you can apply for College on-campus placements but also can apply for teaching posts which requires candidates to have completed MTech.
Actually, it all depends on what the candidate's goal is- whether he is really interested in higher education or wants a job immediately after graduation! Choose the course which suits your interests more. If you land on a good job in the final year in a core company, it shall be a waste of year as you first need to finish your 5th year before you can join the firm.
Hey lakshmi, in either of the NITs you are getting ECE as your core subject. As per my perspective, taking a dual degree is a cherry on the cake for it will save an year as well in the long run. In nit Hamirpur, top recruting companies are Wipro, Capgemini, Infosys etc. The highest salary package offered in our course is 9LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3.6 LPA. The average salary package offered is 5.5 LPA. Around 95% of the students got internships mostly in power plants in India. Placement record of nit Agartala is also great. The average package is of 5.5LPA and highest package was 17lpa. So if you want to pursue masters cum bachelor degree go for integrated course otherwise only bachelor's program is also good. Choose accordingly. All the best.
Dear aspirant,
According to your question and taking into consideration that you want to know if there is any reservation for ex-servicemen.
As per my knowledge nit Hamirpur or any other nit in india doesn't have any reservations in nit Hamirpur. The reservation as seen through josaa are only gen,gen-ews,sc,st,obc and for PWD categories.
Given the previous year's CSAB special round 1 cutoff for OBC-NCL (other state), you have a good probability of securing a seat in ECE at one of the NITs listed above. The deadline is as follows:
Hamirpur-26639, National Institute of Technology
Patna's National Institute of Technology (NIT) 27264.
Jamshedpur National Institute of Technology (NIT): 22896
