You can try with other non core branch combination and home state you can able to get admission in NITs but seriously chances are less.
You can go for government (state) university to get admission in whatsoever branch you want.

If your aim is just placement then go for VIT VELLORE , but if you want to have an NIT tag join NITH. NitH and Vit are nearly the same in terms of study and reputation, one is a government clg and other a private. Placement in NITH is
