Both are really good branches but if you definitely need placements, my suggestion is you to go and opt electrical because it has so much dcope and if you opt mechanical then you'll have more options on railway, government side etc..,

Hi! If you are looking for PhD in near future then go for the one where.your interest lies otherwise from the brand name and placement point of view, go with NIT Calicut.

Hi!

You can either opt for ECE at NIT Kurukshetra or else 5 yr CS at IIIT Jabalpur. In case, you are looking for a brand name then go ahead with NIT Kurukshetra. Also, if you are getting ECE at NIT Kurukshetra then you must be getting CS as well

Out of the 3 options given by you and as per the rating and ranking of colleges you can prefer NIT Hamirpur or NIT Jalandhar at first and if not these 2 then NIT patna.
