National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur
Hello,
You are on the border side, and may or may not get the branch. You will atleast have to wait for Csab special round where you have better chance.
hi,
see cutoff score changes every year and it depends on certain facts like number of participants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, students category, choice of stream etc. however since jee main april session exam is yet to held it is quite difficult to predict the cutoff score. now every state nits has 85% seats reserve for domicile candidates. based on previous years results you need to score above 97 percentile in jee main for admission to nits. so try to score as high as possible.
Hi Iisharaj,
Yes, of course, girls can take Mechanical Engineering branch at NIT Jamshedpur, there is clearly no problem in that. NIT Jamshedpur is just as similar to other colleges. I know you are asking this because very less girls take this branch. See, if you have interest into something and have passion about it than nothing can stop you. So, feel comfortable and go for Mechanical without any overthinking, everything would be fine...

I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck!
In 2019 a candidate belonging to OBC-NCl other state category with rank 6850 secured seat in NIT, Jamshedpur in Mechanical Engineering. Your over all rank is expected to be around 43450 and your rank based on category is expected to be in between 11,000-13,000. Considering this you may not get seat in this institute. You need to score minimum 97 percentile to have decent chances. But cut off is subjected to change depending on number of candidates appeared, number of seats available, difficulty of exam etc.
The formula to calculate overall expected rank is (100- your total percentile)*869010/100
869010=total number of candidates appeared in JEE main January session.

Best of luck.
You have not mentioned if you come under OBC-CL or OBC-NCL. If you come under creamy layer then you will be considered as general category candidate. In 2019 the cut off for MME in NIT, Jamshedpur was 11811 for OBC-NCL and for general candidate it is 37242. You need to score 95-98 percentile or 200 or above marks to have decent chances of getting a seat.
