debolinadawn 20th Sep, 2020

Dear aspirant,

Hope you are doing well. As per your query BITS Hyderabad will be a much better choice than NIT Surathkal if you want to pursue Civil engineering. The NIRF rank speaks for itself. BITS scored 27 in all india whereas NIT scored 33. Moreover the campusing of BITS is much better than NIT. The average package was also very decent for the former last year. Though both are very renowned institutions of India. According to the ranking you should go for BITS. please click on the link below for more information and updates. Hope you find this helpful. with 24,444 rank in jee main which branch can we get in nit surathkal

ARYAN SAGAR 16th Sep, 2020
Dear student,
The cutoff of jee mains has been released by nta, and for this year the cutoff score for general category students is around 90 percentile.
And you have secured a very good rank in jee mains 2020.
As you have not mentioned category but still if you  belong to general category then you have cleared cutoff score and you are eligible to get into nits, iiits, gftis and give jee advanced exam.
But talking about nit surathkal then your chances are difficult for cse , chemical engineering, etc.
If you belong to home state, then you can get mining engineering, metallurgical engineering and civil engineering.
For female candidate belonging to home state quota, civil engineering, mining engineering, metallurgical engineering and mechanical engineering are the branches that you can get.
Other Wise if you belong to other state then your chances are very difficult for getting a seat into nit surathkal with this much rank except for mining engineering.

is metallurgical engineering good in nit surathkal

JAYA KARTHIKA RS 16th Sep, 2020

Hello,

Metallurgy is quite good in NITK. Academics are good.

Facilities, Faculties,Campus are also good.

Placement depends on your performance because major companies recruit only selected workforce

You have to apply off campus only for major government companies which are into metallurgy

Minimum placement is 6 lakhs per annum and maximum being 34 lakhs. Last year around 87% of students got placed.

I am eligible of getting chemical engineering at both NITW and NITK. Which one should I opt for?

Vipul Chaudhary 16th Sep, 2020

Hi there!

Since you specifically mentioned Chemical Engineering, it all boils down to the college. NIT Warangal is much better than NIT Karnataka in terms of Faculty, Placements, etc. NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy and NIT Surathkal are always among the top 3 NITs in India.

I do not have any idea whether you can change your branch at NIT Karnataka. At NITW, Based on your 1st year's CGPA, you can slide into the branch of your choice. Let me tell you, its neither easy nor tough !

The branch slide results have been out a week ago and many chem and biotech students have successfully made it to ece, cse, mech, etc.

The thing with faculties is that, students will never be satisfied. They will always find faults even with good faculties. I prefer not to speak on that.

The choice is yours ! Both are good, while NITW has an edge.

Good luck !
