Sir , I have got 18th Rank in VITMEE for MCA program and AIR 4015 ( OBC Rank 1283) in NIMCET . Should I join VIT Bhopal or join any NIT ?

Kritika sagar 11th Jun, 2019

Hello Priyanka,

congrats for superb performance in both the exams. Now coming to selection of college,i would suggest you to go for NIT's .Keep VIT as your last option because VIT is mostly provide all the facilities for B.tech and is famous for B.tech.Also placements for VIT in MCA is not so good.As per your rank you will get a decent NIT like NIT Durgapur,NIT Jamsedpur,NIT Kurukshetra,NIT Raipur . I hope it helped.Feel free to ask any query

As i completed my bsc(cs) 2016 & i preparing nimcet but my health is not well m sick & my age is 24 so can i take one year gap plzz ans me..

Satyam Student Expert 7th Jul, 2019

Well see taking gap is never said to be good. one year gap sometimes turn out to be a ver bad thing in future. Many times in placement interviews when you give your cv and when a hr sees the gap of one year already their comes a negative impression about the candidate.

But considering the circumstances you can take gap and prepare well and score marvellous in the exam so that no problem come in your way.

Thank you.

I have got 4035 AIR rank in NIMCET ,will I be ale to get admission in ipu?

mansiprofessional234 Student Expert 8th Jun, 2019

Hey arshneet!

This is the first time in 2019 that IPU is taking admissions on the basis of NIMCET score or rank , so there are no previous cutoffs on the basis of which we can predict your chances of admission in IPU. But comparing the NIMCET cutoffs for good colleges , you seem to have less chances of getting admission in IPU . But nothing can be said with surity in this case.

Hope you understand!

is distance BCA worth it? even if I do a regular postgrad later on? Cause Ive seen companies not hiring distance learners??

Aman Yadav 9th Apr, 2019

Greetings!

Hope you're doing great.

Distance education is yet to mark its excellence in India. There are numerous Universities offering distance learning courses e.g IGNOU, Sikkim Manipal University etc Most of the distance learning courses are non-technical and require less or negligible lab hours. Although, few such as BCA course, it's mandatory to dedicate a particular number of hours for lab experiments. It would be wrong to say that distance BCA worth nothing, ideally, if you're pursuing BCA from Indra Gandhi National Open University then it should be equivalent to any Undergraduate program.

The reason why most of the recruiter does not prefer distance learning is as follows: i) Many distance learning is not UGC approved and hence the quality education cannot be gauged properly, ii) Distance education doesn't have peer exposure hence, many people lack social intelligence if they had pursued their whole education through distance learning, iii) Distance learning doesn't groom students in developing advanced communication skills. Whatever may be the reason, distance learning is still an open option for those who can't afford standard education in college or University.

Now coming back to the second part of the question, you want to know if you've completed Undergrad through distance learning and then pursue Postgrad full time then will there be program during placements? The answer is 'NO'. Once you'll start off with Postgrad nobody will question about your Undergrad education(unless you score really poor marks). You focus should be on scoring high marks in  NIMCET exam and study hard for the same. What happened in the past cannot be changed and it's fruitful to dedicate the precious time in moving ahead. At the time of placement, recruiters might be curious to know why did you choose distance education over standard during your Undergrad. You should justify your cause and you're good to go.

P.S: Do make sure the college and University you're planning to pursue MCA accepts distance education. There have been cases where colleges deny admission based due to such a situation.

Hope, this will help. Do reach out in the comment section below in case you need any help.

All the best. Cheers!

Im doing my Distance BCA right now and wanted to know if I can take up NIMCET or PGCET after? and hopefully get into RV or BMS,etc for MCA?

mdsameenabanu Student Expert 8th Apr, 2019

hi,

Aspirants who have completed or completing degree three year BSc / BSc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT from Open Universities can also apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

Once the merit list is declared, for nimcat and pgcet, selected candidates are called for the counselling round. The allotment of seat is done online on the basis of merit and priority options. The counselling process is inclusive of candidate’s registration, verification of documents, entry of options, and seat allotment.

Good luck

Is the syllabus same for NIMCET ( MCA entrance for NIT) and PGCET for MCA? If yes, since I have studied for one can I attempt both exams?

Prashant_1553778274 Student Expert 8th Apr, 2019

Hello Occasionallurker,

This is quite a clear way of approaching the exams and perhaps you can attempt both with same amount of preparation on the syllabus .but to stand out and score good you also need to know how the syllabus of these exams are different even though they have major parts overlapping. And working on that dissimilar part will help you score better.

All the best.

The nimcet exam date was completely closed today 7-4-2019evening (5:00 pm) so can u help me to apply for nimcet sir

Unnati 7th Apr, 2019

Hello Bhushna,

Since the registration process for NIMCET 2019 is over, though it might be upsetting to hear on your part but it is not possible for anyone to apply for the same once the process is closed. The Last date for online submission of Application Form was  31/3/2019 and NIMCET already extended form filing till 5 pm on 7/4/2019 thus removing the chances of any extension.

Hope this answers your query, feel free to ask for more info.
