Hello there. Since for once your admit card are released and all the things are done you can't change your category. And for taking admission in general category, if you have scored good marks and your air is good then you will automatically get seat in the general without filling the quota seat and that admission will be on the seat available for all equally without any reservation.

(Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time from a recognized University with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale as a General Category & 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale as SC, ST Category. Yes, you can apply for NIMCET.
The basic eligibility criteria of NIMCET 2019 requires Indian candidates to be science, IT, CA, technology or engineering graduates with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.

NIMCET that is NIT MCA common entrance test is a national level test for getting admission in selected NITs and HBTU, Kanpur. The NIMCET exam is going to be conducted in the fourth week of May and applications will be open from the first week of March.
The results and cutoffs will be released in the first week of June . So we cannot predict the cutoff as of now. For more details please check the link;

B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time from a recognized University with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects (candidates from open universities are also eligible)
OR
B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognized University
Minimum Marks should be:
For General, OBC: 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale
For ST, SC: 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale
