I am sharing with you NIMCET Eligibility Criteria 2018, if you are able to satisfy the below criteria you can apply otherwise not.
There is no age bar regrding this exam & your 2 year Gap will not be any hurdle. All you need to do is to qualify the criteria.
NIMCET Eligibility Criteria 2018-
Candidates must be Indian nationals.
They should be graduation degree holders (BCA/B.Sc (Hons.)/B.Sc/BIT) as per 10+2+3 pattern from a recognised university.
Candidates must have studied Mathematics or Statistics or equivalent subject during graduation.
Candidates belonging to General category are required to score a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA score in aggregate of all subjects. SC/ST category candidates need to obtain at least 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA score on a 10 point scale in aggregate.

You need to clear the backlogs for appearing in Nimcet exam. Please go through the below guidelines:
Indian Nationals securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scales (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST) in
(i) B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time from a recognized University with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects OR
(ii) B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognized University are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2018.
Both colleges are good however most preferred is KIT. The cutoff for KIT is higher when compared to DKTE if you check the first allotment that was announced recently. If you live there, I would suggest you go to check the colleges and talk to seniors there. Check the placement reports put up before deciding.
