National Institute of Technology Patna
Hi Ayush,
It is not possible to calculate the exact rank from given percentile so there is a formula for calculating near about rank which is given as below
(100 - your percentile) *869010/100
According to this formula your rank would be around 15,700. According to the last year's trend there are little bit chances that you may get CSE branch in NIT Patna.
I would suggest you to appear in second attempt of JEE-Main exam in month of April. You should score above 99 percentile to get confirm chances of CSE branch in NIT Patna.
You can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict the college according to your percentile and category.
I hope this answer helps you.
All The Best!!
Hello Aspirant.
As you've mentioned that you've scored 74.02 in JEE Main examination 2020. Then your chances of getting into NIT Patna are quite difficult but still if you're able to get into NIT Patna then you might face a problem of not getting the demanded branch( If it's CS or IT) as your rank won't match upto that level.
Best of luck !
Hello,
Your expected rank will be around 22759.You can calculate your expected rank using the formula (100-your total percentile)*869010/100
where 869010 is the total number of candidates appeared in January session. In April session 1200000 candidates are expected to appear then you can calculate your expected rank using the formula (100-your total percentile)*1200000/100.
Now, your category rank will be in between 5514-7164.Considering 2019 cut off trends you may get seat in the following branches
In NIT, Agartala
In NIT, Silchar
In NIT, Patna
These are the branches in which you may get seat. However, cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease slightly.
Mohan, Firstly, let us predict your expected rank for this secured percentile. Now, It is difficult to predict the exact ranks currently as the April Jee session has yet to take place. However, you can predict your expected rank by this formula:-
(100 - your total score) X 869010 /100.
If, however, the number of candidates for April exam get increased to another number, say, 1200000 then your final rank shall be (100 - your total score) X 1200000/100
In your case the expected ALL INDIA RANK rank comes out to be around 60830. Note that it is the expected ALL INDIA RANK and not your category rank which is very difficult to predict at this point of time.Honestly, the chances of getting the CSE branch in NIT PATNA at this rank is going to be extremely difficult irrespective of your category and home state considerations as predicted from the 2019 cutoffs . The 2019 cutoffs for NIT PATNA based on AIR for general category students was as follows:--
General
MALE (HOME STATE)
16347
MALE (OTHER STATE)
13638
FEMALE (HOME STATE)
24847
FEMALE (OTHER STATE)
19565
If you wish to check the previous years cutoffs of various NITs then you can visit this link

Also, you have a good percentile and you may get some good state level colleges, so you should opt for the State- level counselling process as well and can also try for various other private institutes. In addition to this, there is a big chance that you would qualify for JEE ADVANCED based on these scores, so you would likely have a chance to aim for the IITs too.
Also, you do have another attempt to go in the APRIL JEE MAINS Session, so concentrate on that too boost your chances of getting the desired college and your desired branches.
Also, you can use this college predictor to know what colleges you would get based on these January scores

yes you are eligible as your parents must be a resident of bihar and you are a minor so you will get the domicile certificate.
there are some rules by bihar government to be eligible for domicile certificate Those are:-
so you go in minor category. if your parent satisfy any one of above 3 then you can apply for domicile certificate and use home state quota for admission.
here is the link for NIT campus cutoff:-
Hope it helps!
Hi Javed.
The official cutoff of JEE Mains 2020 will be released along with the final results after the April JEE Mains. The NTA will announce category wise cutoffs then. But you can still check your estimated rank using the formula (100-your total percentile)*869010/100. So with this percentile, your estimated All India rank will be around 43,500. Now, if the candidates appearing in April's JEE Mains increase, then your rank would increase too.
Now, if you have a reserved category, you have chances of getting a seat. But if you are of the general category, you can only get NIT Patna if Bihar is your home state. You can refer to this link for detailed cutoffs for NIT Patna - https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-patna?__cf_chl_jschl_tk__=ce744d9baa617488ad0aae22e87a2a2bf7118506-1580975627-0-AWuqirSsFcmqQlvZ6N3kTNV2Xy-uOggz1rzNK5cvIKF_gayktH8XE9sWxOJoojvSXXmFOsth9KP-cNTv-NePeTzuS3k-N-y_CBLTG5SpJpTANpVeXYvZ1PjmV3zkjGur44uS6rsVA4GErEZ5IIpCZeYCfOZKXDcbWWqMKOeNY2mjfKohCt6Ohb9g6-1q3IQ-I-gNAOabk37k1lwJq3IcxbL_AuI28QM9Vw7DcXTtoMrn2L3C2Gx3-hM0RT0PEo8sM2tdFTDjJVtjqkc_azbbriqIJiuepq8DaEs9f_zlKNs0tfDVHbeBlEm07RlaWpfAUw For knowing more about the colleges you can get, check out this college predictor - https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor

NIT Patna does not conducts an entrance exam at it's own level. There are various entrance exams that you need to clear for admission into various feilds.
These degrees and examinations are.

Inshort, NIT does not conduct any entrance examination paper on it's own.
