As you  mention your percentile in 12 the and with these percentile in class 12th you may not able to get admission in NIT colleges . eligibility for nit  college to get admission is tithave atleast 75 percentile in 12. And you  have to clear  JEE main exam ..and on the basis of your ranking you will get NIT colleges.

Well the highest package can range upto 30 lacs per annum and an average of packages are of 10-9 lacs per annum.

Well the reputation of the college in placements is highly rated.

Placement of IT and CS hold good records.

NIT works as a name itself in many concerns of placements . IT is one the best branch of engineering.

IIIT jabalpur is one of the few colleges in MP to pride good engineering plus CS is the topmots best branch of engineering .

I suggest you to go up with NIT because it will be a more opportunistic approach for you.

To be very much clear let me tell you that I am also a mechanical scholar.

I can tell you that both the branches are very good . You should take your call in this matter.

I can just tell you that ECE is relatively easy in comparison to mechanical. Placement of ECE is also relatively high , packages are approximately equal.

The only advantage with mechanical is that it is a very interesting branch if you have a little interest in it. Once you develop a interest in it you can surely do better in life.

Hostel facilities in NIT ,raipur are above average but hostel rooms are less in quantity and one has to maintain a higher marks to apply for the hostel as only 30 percent of the students get hostel due to less availability of rooms.

mess food is below average. Hostels are too cheap they charge 35k ( approx) yearly including mess fee.

Speaking about the placements and opportunities CBIT in CSE is the best Choice. The minimum salary package is 3 lakhs per annum and maximum of Upto 10 lakhs per annum. Many IT companies TCS, Infosys,Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture and many other companies comes for recruitment.

Speaking about the placements in National institute of Technology, Raipur they atr often good and provides good opportunities for students to explore. As per the previous year placements record, Many IT companies comes for recruitment Wipro, Infosys, Accenture and many. Very few core companies comes for recruitment like L&T,  Bostch . The average salary package is 6.5 lakhs per annum and the highest is 16 lakhs. Placements for ECE are good enough.
