Dear Aspirant,
The total fees of NIT in India is Rs 1,20,000 for a year. General category candidate need to pay the full fees while SC/ST category candidate do not need to pay the tution fees. For OBC category, the candidates whose family income is below than 1 lakh get half reimbursement in their tution fees while OBC category candidates whose family income is more than 1 lakh but less than 5 lakh get 2/3 rd reimbursement in their tution fees. Hostel fees which is approximately 30,000 Rs is compulsory to be paid by all category candidates.

Hello Aspirant,
As there are different aspects to categorize the colleges and one of the aspect about which you have asked is placement statistics for any college. Now as we know that NIT Warangal and NIT Rourkela both are very good engineering institutions of India but when we come to aspect of placements then NIT Warangal is placed ahead of NIT Rourkela for B.Tech as in NIT Warangal placements are little better than that of NIT Rourkela. Average package offered in NIT Warangal is around 9.01 Lacs and that of NIT Rourkela is around 6.5 Lacs.
It is also known that NIT Warangal is ranked on 19th position by NIRF whereas NIT Rourkela secures 16th position this is because NIT Warangal has quite smaller campus as compared to that of NIT Rourkela and we know that NIRF ranking is based on various parameters and Campus area is also the factor to be considered for ranking.
For full comparison between both the institutions kindly refer to the link given below :-

I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck!!
In terms of infrastructure, both nits are excellent for chemical engineering courses. The faculty are extremely supportive of both, and both colleges have several amenities.
In NIT Warangal, 75 percent of students were placed in chemical engineering, with the top package being about 19 lpa and the average being around 7 lpa, but in NIT Rourkela, the average package is 5 lpa and the highest is 12 lpa.
Hey!
there are two parts in this answer. 1st is about comparing 2 colleges. 2nd is about course and placements. i would like to answer it from my point of view.
nit rourkela is a prestigious college. on the otehr hand iitdm kanchi is no way inferior. it is also a good college with good reputation. nit and iitdm both are cosly. one or the other way, they are costly. so it now depends completely on course and placements.
metallurgy is a growing branch, thus you could take up masters and then phd and go in research field so that you get a prestigious life. wherein cse is a branch which is in demand among students, which directly implies that there is going to be lack of jobs in the forth coming years. though there are lots of companies, getting a high paid job is difficult. where as in metallurgy, you can assure yourself of getting a job in top companies like, tata steels, sail etc. so there is no lack of jobs in metallurgy. there is a demand indeed.
if you have enough knowledge in metallurgy subject, you have a lot of jobs in foreign too. even in cse, if you have a lot of knowledge, then you might get placed in infosys, wipro and other top companies
so now its upto you to choose. no course is inferior. if you have enough knowledge, you shine. no one stops you from that.
i hope this helps you.
