In 2019-20, NIT Rourkela students received a total of 909 job offers. The students of the B.Tech programme received the maximum package of 42 LPA.
MTech, MTech(Res) and PhD students need to return the scholarship/fellowship amount received till date to the Institute if he/she discontinues the programme. This is not applicable to the students of other programmes.
For admission in BTech offered at NIT Rourkela, candidates have to appear for JEE Main or a similar test approved by NIT Council and obtain a valid score. Further candidates have to register with JoSAA for participating in the counselling process and have to choose NIT Rourkela as their first choice during the choice filling. Once they have been allotted a seat, they have to be a part of the document verification process and pay the course fee.
One can take admission to the Undergraduate programme (BTech, BArch, Dual Degree BTech & MTech, Integrated MSc) at NIT Rourkela only through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) after qualifying JEE (Main) examination of the same year. No other means of admission is available at NIT Rourkela.
