Hi,
While NIT Rourkela is a great institute has developed and improved very much in last few years , NIT Surathkal still remains one of the top three NIT in India.
in terms of ranking, placement, infrastructure and faculty.
NIT Surathkal is the only one, which has the funds for research area at par with top seven IITs.
Hello student. In the case of infrastructure and opportunities, both the collegs are good. But when it comes to course curriculum and placements, SPA vijayawada placements are not that good. It does provide internship opportunities for students. But as of placements, not many companies come for barch students
When it comes for NIR rourkela , it is one of the best colleges to study barch. Undoubtedly the best one. Everything is good. Placements, infrastructure, faculty and course curriculum, campus life is really good and safe.
Worth the money you spend
So I would say NIT rourkela is the best out of two
Hi Rohit ,
NIT Rourkela is one of the best NITs . But very sorry to inform you that even with OBC category 81.1 percentile is insufficient to get admission in any stream of engineering in NIT Rourkela . For home state OBC students the cut off for NIT Rourkela last year was approximately about 94-95 percentile or 40000 rank. If you are other state student for NIT Rourkela then you should target for 98 percentile . For more details please visit the given link below - ://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-rourkela In my suggestion You should prepare accordingly and come within 98 percentile , then you will definitely get admission into NIT Rourkela . All the best .
The exact prediction would be difficult about your admission possibilities but as per the previous year cutoff the chances are less to get a seat in NIT Rourkela or any other NITs, IIITs & GFTIs.
however you can try for the state level counseling like Punjab, Haryana, MP Etc.
To know your admission possibilities in state level counseling you can use JEE Main college predictor tool given below.

JNU has been offering a btech degree from 2018 and is packed with a dual degree. It provides a 5 year dual degree with courses namely economics, humanities and etc. and takes admission on the basis of JEE MAINS score.
The School of Engineering offers a five year dual degree programme with BTech in an Engineering discipline, and a Master’s ( MS / MTech ) programe with specializations in Social Sciences/Humanities/Science/Technology.In the first half of the dual degree programme, the students would need to do compulsory foundation courses in the areas of basic sciences, humanities, social sciences and engineering sciences apart from their departmental requirements in the core engineering discipline. The students will have options of choosing open category electives from a pool of courses to develop a broad inter-disciplinary knowledge base. This will provide them with an opportunity to do MS / MTech in an area outside their parent discipline. The dual degree programme in JNU would be novel in the sense that it would extend an opportunity to the students, especially in their fourth and fifth years of their programme to involve themselves in projects/dissertations and courses on Humanities, International Studies, Sciences, Languages, Linguistics and Social Sciences, in order to understand the demands of such disciplines and acquaint themselves with the frontier areas.
The five dual degree programmes are as follows:
Instead, the other colleges like NIT ROURKELA/IIIT BHUBANESHWAR offers a 4 year btech and opens up a lot of prospects after the completion of your btech.
HOPE THIS HELPS!
