National Institute of Technology Silchar
It is considered to be a good score to secure admission to NIT Silchar , especially for General category students, but it not guaranteed. The 96 percentile is considered strong for mid-tier NITs.
Hello there, With 79.75 percentile (OBC-NCL) in JEE Mains, getting NIT Silchar is difficult for most branches under the Other State quota. However, if you are from Assam (Home State) , you may have a chance in lower-demand branches like Mechanical or Civil Engineering , especially in CSAB special rounds . Admission to top branches like CSE is unlikely.
I would recommend you to use JEE Mains College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank or percentile.

Hello aspirant,
Both NITs have excellent placement rates; about 90% of students were placed in both institutions. However, NIT Silchar has superior facilities compared to NIT Patna. Overall in my opinion, NIT Silchar is beeter than NIT Patna and it is also established earlier than NIT Patna.
Thank you

Hi
hope you doing well
Whilw having a score of 81.12% in Jee mains, and belonging to the S C category, you have a chance of getting admission into NIT Silchar under the SC quota. The cutoffs for SC candidates are generally lower than those for the General category.
However, admission to specific branches like CSE or ECE might still be challenging, as these branches have higher cutoffs. You are more likely to secure a seat in branches like Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
The exact cutoffs vary year by year, but based on previous trends, your percentile puts you in contention for certain branches.
