There is various criteria to decide the cutoff but there is no single factor, so can't predict the cutoff exactly. Admissions to NIT, Trichy will be based on score obtained in JEE Main. So, You should score good to get admission in NIT, Trichy. JEE Main Cut Off

NIT admission depends on the various factors like home state quota/ Other state quota, Category etc. It would be tough to tell you the exact marks. but try to score more than 200-220 in JEE Main entrance Exam. You can check the previous year cutoff rank with the given below

I would like to tell you that the opening rank for you if you belong to the same state as the above mentioned college would be 1848 and the closing rank would be 5716.

If you belong to another state as a ST candidate, your opening rank would

You need to have a minimum of 75% in boards if are non-sc/st candidate.

If you are sc/st you need 65%+ in boards.

If you qualify the above case, then with 196 marks you have very less chances of getting admission in nit trichy.
