If you belong to homestate then you can easily get seat there.But if you do not belong to homestate then you may not get seat there.

The cut off varies from branch to branch and as per category. Cut off for OBC category is around 49. The NIT Trichy closing rank for OBC student for different branches are:

*Chemical Engineering -5225

*Civil Engineering-8441

*Computer Science and Engineering-1551

*Electrical and Electronics Engineering-3127

*Electronics and Communciation Engineering-2110

*Instrumentation and Control Engineering-4572

*Mechanical Engineering-3425

last year closing rank for architecture at NIT tiruchipalli home state quota was 1149. so you can be sure of getting B.Arch. at NIT,tiruchipalli.

I will recommend you to check the cutoff of all the NITs as it is the cutoff that will let you know your admission chances. The minimum marks required to get admission in any institution or course is known as cutoff and it varies from institute to institute, course to course and category to category. 

Suppose you have rank less than the cutoff rank, then your chances of admission will lower down.

There is so such thing as toughest as long as you are really into one particular interest thet you want to do but though Electrical engineering is “considered” to be the toughest branch in engineering.Some students find it difficult to mug up things they find ECE a difficult one. CSE is considered comparatively easy.this is the experience of people but still u will never know for yourself until and unless you are willing to do what motivates your interest.
