my gate score is 717 and rank in 719 in EE. Can i get nit trichy vlsi ?

Anurag Khanna 27th Apr, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

If we go through the analysis of previous year's GATE score Vs College allotment than according to the GATE 2021 score mentioned by you in the query, you have some chances in  NIT Trichy for VLSI which comes under Communication systems and the closing GATE score goes upto 680-690 in special round of counselling, also last year the closing cut-off for NIT Trichy was 681 for Communication system for General category.

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

I got 99.26 percentile in JEE mains feb 2021 and I am from TamilNadu as well as OBC category, can I get CSE group in NIT Trichy?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 23rd Apr, 2021

Hi

With  99.26 percentile

Your obc rank will be around 1500- 2000.

You are  from Tamilnadu so you will be eligible for home state quota in NIT Trichy

It is quite difficult to make prediction but yes as per past year trend , you hold a decent chance to get a seat in NIT Trichy for cse

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, closing rank for gender-neutral for obc category was 2008 obc rank for computer science under home state quota in NIT Trichy

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

minimum marks to get cse in nit trichy SC(other state)

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 16th Apr, 2021

Hi

This is a bit difficult to predict the marks/percentile/rank required in JEE mains to get a seat as cut off  keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the jee main examination , number of seats available for the branch you want etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then ,

In round 6 of josaa counselling 2020 , 198 sc rank was the closing rank for gender neutral for sc category for other state in National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli for computer science engineering

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

And to get around 198 sc  rank you need at least around 160-170 marks. For marks vs rank vs percentile visit

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Also, you can use rank predictor for the same at
