I got 98.53 percentile in jan 20, jee exam, under general EWS category, can i get Nit trichy CS branch.

MD Neshat Faizy 2nd Mar, 2020
Hello Parag,If you got 98.53 percentile in January JEE Main paper 1, then your rank after JEE Main April paper for this percentile will be approx 14 to 17 thousand.
Now year closing Cutoff rank for NIT Trichy Computer Science(CS) for EWS was 2937.
so there is very very less change that you will get NIT Trichy CS with this rank.

But you can get other branches in NIT Trichy with this rank.
Last year closing cutoff rank of NIT Trichy for different branches for EWS category are

Electronic and Communication Engineering - 6088

Metallurgical and Material Engineering - 29,773

Production Engineering - 29,760

Mechanical Engineering - 12,760

Chemical Engineering - 22,549

i got 84%le in jeemain paper 2 (jan) from trichy and i have sc,hs,female quota. can i surely get nit trichy?? what percentile should i get in April, so that i can be sure to get a seat in nit trichy?

MD Neshat Faizy 1st Mar, 2020
Helo Dear Aspirant, This year 1,38,410 students registered for JEE Main paper 2 and 1,12,679 student gave the exam.Last year 1,45,386 students gave the JEE Main April paper 2 B.Arch paper.
So based on these facts if you got 84% then your rank will be approx 20 to 25 thousand after JEE Main April paper 2.
Last year closing cutoff rank for Female SC category candidate having Home state quota was 11,698 for NIT Trichy.
Sadly i would say that there is very less change that would get B.Arch in NIT Trichy.
For getting seat in B.Arch in NIT Trichy your percentile should be above 93.
So, Try to increase as much percentile as possible and If you have any queries regarding this then you can ask in the comment section.

which is best for CSE 1. NIT TRICHY 2. BITS PILANI and why

Nikhitha Sai 27th Feb, 2020

Hello aspirant, both of the colleges cannot be compared

Because, each if the college is best in it's own way p. Especially when the branch of computer science is taken.

Both of them are equally best in terms of education, placements course curriculum etc so on and so forth.

But the change is in life style. If you wish to experience a luxurious engineering life style, then go for bits pilani.

Else, a normal life style like other colleges, nit trichy will go the best

But in terms of educational aspects, they cannot be compared at all. It would be your choice

Is there any chance for an obc-ncl female student to get into NIT TRICHY(home state) with a percentile of 89.4??

Ayush Mishra 22nd Feb, 2020
Hey aspirant, NTA conducts two papers JEE MAINS PAPER1 and PAPER 2 for admission to B.Tech and B. arch courses respectively. You have not specified whether you want to inquire about your chances based on percentile secured in JEE MAIN PAPER-1 or JEE MAIN PAPER-2. So, I am going to answer your query taking into consideration that the query is about Paper2 and if your query was different, then you can let me know in the comments.

Now, to calculate your expected rank for B.Arch based on the percentile score that you have secured, you can use this formula:

So, (100 - your total percentile score) is the percentage of people ahead of you. Also, 112679 were the number of candidates who appeared for January exam.

Also, note that the ranks will change according to increase or decrease in the number of participants in the next session.

So rank formula is (100 - your total score) X 112679 /100.

Now, according to this formula, your expected rank is around 11943 . Note that it is the expected All India Rank and not your category rank which is very difficult to predict at this point of time. As you may be knowing, the admission to any collegealso depends on your home state and category status. Now, In your case, your chances of getting NIT TRICHY are small, although there is some chance if the cutoffs increase significantly this year, even with your home state and gender as previous year closing rank for All India Quota for general category was 1075 and the closing rank for general category based on home state quota was 2468 while the same for OBC NCL category was 652 and 1043 respectively. So, going by previous years trends, your chances of making it to NIT THIRUCHIRAPALLI are small.

However, you have a decent enough percentile and it could give you admission to some other decent private institiutes accepting JEE Scores and hence you should try for the same. Not only that, you have another attempt to go where you can redeem yourself and increase your chances of getting desired colleges.

Also, if you want to predict your colleges using your scores, you can use this college predictor
