Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering is a four-year undergraduate program offered by universities/institutes in the field of metallurgy. B.Tech in metallurgical engineering is basically the study of metals. Employment opportunities for metallurgical engineers are available in various areas such as chemical and metallurgical labs, iron and steel companies etc.

NIT Trichy is better in ranking as well as in terms of faculty as compared to NIT Rourkela. So you should go for BTech in Metallurgy in NIT Trichy.

It will be difficult with this rank, i think. You can get NIT T but ECE will be quite dificult. If you want ECE then there's lot of option for you:

If you are from general category then it will be difficult for you to get admission in nit trichy with this percentile. However, if you are from OBC, SC or ST category then you might get a seat there but branch will still be an issue. Even if you are not getting nit trichy you can aim for other nits where you might have a good chance of getting admission. Hope this helps.

Sorry but it is not possible for you to get a seat in NIT Trichy in CSE branch at this rank. But you can go for other good colleges as well. If your preferred branch is CSE only, then you could go for other NITs as well. They all at par with this one. Also, you could consider branches like Information Technology (IT), which is equally good as the CSE branch. NIT Allahabad is what you can choose for IT branch. Firstly jee advance score cannot hand you a seat in the NITs so your advance marks is of no use getting admitted into this college.

Now with the rank that you have scored in mains you cannot get metallurgical engineering branch in NIT trichy, even your category will not benefit you this time.
