My CLAT score is 101 in 2019 with up domicile women general category. What are my chances of getting any NLU

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 12th Jun, 2019

With the score you're mentioning you'll get a rank somewhere between 1900-2700. If you fall in general category then chances are bleak that you'll get an NLU but you can definitely look out for colleges under IPU like

  • VIPS
  • Ideal Institute of Management and Technology
  • JIMS Engineering Management Technical campus, school of Law
  • NMIMS

My clat score is 77.75 I am belong from sc category with mp domicile which nlu I get and what is about my rank

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 12th Jun, 2019

With the score you're mentioning you'll get a rank somewhere between 8000-9300. If you fall in SC category then I'm afraid you have less chances of getting into NLIU Bhopal or DNLU Jabalpur even with your state domicile. But you can definitely look out for other colleges like

  • Ideal Institute of Management and Technology
  • Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology
  • JIMS Engineering Management Technical campus, school of Law
  • KIIT Bhubaneswar
  • UPES Dehradun
  • ICFAI Dehradun

Hi Marwah!

It seems low marks for good NLU's to get into. You have very less chances under your category also.

I scored 51 marks in clat and Im from obc category. Any chances for nlu?

komal ray 11th Jun, 2019

Hi Priyanka!

As you must be knowing that the CLAT exam this year has been a cakewalk for most students and hence the cutoffs are expected to be on the higher side. The General category cutoff would most probably be 110+. The cutoff for OBC candidates would come down only by 5-10 marks at most. So don't be disappointed but there is absolutely no chance for you to get any NLU this year. Nonetheless, you can go for private law colleges, some of which are really good or else you can sit for CLAT again.

All the best. Hope it helps.

1 scored 58.75 in clat and Im from ST category. Any chances for NLU?

Souparni Student Expert 11th Jun, 2019

Hello Yassin,

According to the Rank Predictor tool, your probable common rank range comes in between 17,693 to 18,893 and your category rank ranges from 4 to 304. Based on your common rank, there is a very slim to no chance of you landing a seat in any NLU for that matter as according to the previous trends, the cutoffs closed at 4000 rank.

Also, since the question paper was easy this year, there is a very high chance that the cutoffs will be higher than usual. If you have a State Domicile, then you can apply that to your advantage at any of the NLUs falling in your domicile region.

I suggest you to keep looking for other institutes which accept a score of CLAT for admission or maybe you can try for a seat in one of the lower ranked NLUs such as NLU Shimla or NLU Jabalpur.

All the Best!

Hii! I got 77 marks in clat from OBC category . Is there is any chance to get admission in NLU..??

mahimadogra_6929406 Student Expert 11th Jun, 2019
Hey.
This year as the CLAT paper was easier, the cut offs are expected to go high. The level of the paper was similar to 2016's paper and hence a higher cut off is expected. Considering that you score around 70 marks and belong to the OBC category you don't seem to have much chance for admission in any of the NLUs. The cut off for general category may close around 100-110 and there is not much difference in OBC and general'a cut off. It's mot more than 5-10 marks. Hence with a score around 70 you don't seem to have much chances.
There are various private colleges accepting CLAT scores for admission you can try for those instead.
Best of luck
