What are my chance of getting nlu patiala i have been alloted shimla.i have put shimla on 20 and patiala on 7

mahimadogra_6929406 Student Expert 24th Jun, 2019
Hey.
This year as per the first allotment list the cut off for admission in Patiala was a rank of 442. And the cut off for admission in Shimla was a rank of 622. And last year as per the final allotment list the cut off stopped at around  a rank of 800 for Patiala and a rank of 1200 for Shimla.
considering the previous year trends, chances for upgradation from Shimla to Patiala are not much. As RGNUL being a comparatively older NLU is more preferred. Hence the chances seem to be less for this RGNUL.
Best of luck

Hi Sir .Observing lot of vacant seats in almost all NLU in 2nd provisional list.Is this normal trend ?or this year these are more.

mahimadogra_6929406 Student Expert 24th Jun, 2019
Hey.
As so many new National Law Universities are opening, the number of vacanies are also quite more. The lower tier and New NLUs are not as preferred as the other NLUs. Somehow they lack in the area of placements, faculty, other opportunities etc. Many students prefer to opt for other colleges than these lower Tier NLUs as they offer better opportunities and facilities overall.
So as last year admission to NLUs through the counselling closed at around 1600. Various lower NLUs had vacancies. Even some middle tier NLUs have vacancies. And with a rank under 3000 there's a chance in selection through it. This year also a similar trend can be expected
Best of luck

I got a score of 128.25 and rank air 3140 and belongs to an all India general category. Do I have a chance of getting in any of the nlus??

mahimadogra_6929406 Student Expert 24th Jun, 2019
Hey Aman..
The cut off for admission in any of the National Law Universities through CLAT in the previous year was a rank in the range of 1600 for the general category. Considering that your rank is 3140, you do not seem to have any chances for any of the National LawUniversities if you belong to the general category in any subsequent allotment lists. Even for NLU Sonipat chances are not much.
Usually there are vacancies in the lower NLUs as people leave their seats for other colleges. You might have a fair chance then. But vacancies are very uncertain and you might/ might not have a chance.
For vacancies, you need to catch up with official websites of each lower tier NLU. As thw vacancies are handled by NLUs themselves and not through any common mode.

Also, if you have other optiona various non NLU law colleges and even private colleges are better than the lower tier NLUs. So you can prefer joining those instead of waiting for vacancies if the fees isn't a problem. As there isn't much difference in fees of various NLUs and private colleges too.
Other than colleges with their own entrances, There are various Private Colleges that accept CLAT scores other than the National Law Universities. You might even have a chance for colleges under IPU, Delhi if you applied there.

Here is a list of a few of them.
Jindal Global Law School, Sonepat
Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, Mumbai
NIRMA UNIVERSITY, Ahmedabad
ICFAI Law School, HyderabadSchool of Law, GITAM University, Visakhapatnam
Alliance School of Law, Bangalore
IFIM Law College, Bangalore
LLOYD Law College,Greater Noida
Amity University, U.P.
Asian Law College, Noida
Manipal University, Jaipur

How to fill vacant seats in nlu, also pls. Tell me that do I have to submit any counselling fee ,what is the whole procedure?

Parvesh Bansal 24th Jun, 2019

Hi Alok,

No there is no counseling fee.  You will be allotted seat on the basis of your rank and you will have to keep a regular check on the applicant profile section. So far as vacant seats are concerned every NLU publish list of vacant seats and certain documents have to be posted and uploaded at the time of applying for vacant seats. Once the notifications for vacant seats will start coming in the website all the necessary details will also be mentioned therein. Keep visiting clat.ac.in

Hi Piyush,

Given that your category rank is really good you are definitely getting into one of the top 5 NLUs which are as follows in order of chance;

1. GNLU,

2. RMLNLU

3. HNLU

Parvesh Bansal 24th Jun, 2019

Hi Kunal,

Given that your category is good you have a very slignt chance of making it to RMLNLU. Generally admissions at RMLNLU closes at around 600. However if in case of any vacant seat any seat is left then your name may be kept in the waiting list otherwise you are easily getting into RGNLU.

Inclatiapplied undr jk residents quotawhen merit list will out and myscoreis 85is it enough to get admission in nlu and doi need to fill

Parvesh Bansal 24th Jun, 2019

Hi Rajat,

You don't have to apply anymore for a seat at any of the National Law University,  you will be allotted a seat according to your rank and if there is any reservation for J&K residents you will surely be considered for the same. Your marks are on the lower side and chances of getting into one of the NLU is a little difficult but if your category rank is good then you will definitely get into one of the NLU.
