Hello Aspirant,

As we know that as of now in Maharashtra cases are gradually decreasing and the circumstances are becoming favorable and the Maharashtra government has decided to keep the colleges closed till November 30th as a preventional measure and if we discuss about the latest UGC Guidelines then it clearly states that from November 1st new session should be started for first year students either in online made or offline mode whichever will be most convenient as per the situation. There is no any news regarding reopening of colleges in Maharashtra. As of now online classes system has been adopted by almost all institutions.

Which news paper can I read in UPSCs preparation? I want to give a paper from Hindi medium, so for the trouble of telling me a better news paper in Hindi medium, thank you!

Shakti Swarupa Bhanja 16th Nov, 2020

Hello !

The best hindi newspaper for UPSC prepartion would be The Hindu . Other good newspapers are there like Jansatta and Hindustan. These two newspapers are good. But they are not available in all regions, so go for the Hindu. You can read any reputed hindi newspaper which is published from your state like NavBharat Times, Hindustan, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Jagran, The Tribune, Amar Ujala. Any Hindi National Daily would help you cover current affairs.

Hope for the best!

when will colleges reopen in Maharashtra according to the latest news

Mohammed Faiz 16th Nov, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued guidelines for starting higher education institutions. The decision to start the colleges has been left to the state government and the vice chancellors of the universities.

The state government wants to take a decision on actually starting colleges in the state. However, the UGC has issued guidelines on what precautions to take if the college actually starts.

Suggestions are given for six days schedule, minimum number of classes, setting up segregation system on campus, Covid-19 screening of students, teachers and other staff. Colleges, universities and institutions of higher learning across the country have been closed since March due to the corona virus infection.

However, as the number of Corona patients in the country is coming under control, a decision may be taken by the central government to start colleges and universities in the near future. Against this backdrop, UGC has issued SOPs for starting colleges.

Hope this helps

Good Luck

Anuj More 15th Nov, 2020

Dear Candidate,

The state officials were a bit positive on the stance of opening the degree colleges in Maharashtra from this year end or new year start. Please know this, they are doing this based on daily scenarios regarding the pandemic. Although there is time for it, they are hoping to start all the things slowly but steadily to control the spread of the virus. It may or may not start in Feb/Jan too. We will just have to wait & watch the steps that they take.

Thanks.
