Hello there,
First let me tell you that, JEE Mains score is valid only for 1 year. This year JEE Mains score is not valid for the next year. For the next year, you have to give JEE Mains again. And now let me tell you that to give JEE Advanced exam, you have to clear JEE Mains first.
For this year the JEE Mains cut-off for various categories is like, for General category was 90, 72 for OBC-NCL , 50 for SC , 39 for ST , and 1 for PWD in this year. So, to give JEE Advance exam, you have to score atleast this percentage as per your category.
And also, if you get good marks in these exams, then there is no need to go in private colleges. You can get top institutes like NIT's, IIT's etc.
Hope it helps.

If you have failed this time you will not be given a certificate for the subject, however you will be able to take it up again in the next season. The choice is given to you, you can either take up the same subject or you can opt for another subject as well.
