how many ques should i attempt in MAT feb exam to score 90+ percentile , and i am very confused of what to do next because my CAT EXAM didnt go well , if you please help me on this ?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 9th Dec, 2020

MAT is held for 200 questions and the exam is to be completed within 150 minutes. There are 5 sections and each section consists of 40 questions. The 5 sections are:

  • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning: Questions related to series and sequences, critical reasoning, data arrangement, blood relations, input-output analysis, direction sense, coding and decoding are asked.
  • Language Comprehension: You have to read the paragraph and answer the questions
  • Mathematics: Questions are related to Arithmetic, Geometry, Business Mathematics.
  • Data Analysis and Sufficiency: Questions are related to data arrangement, blood relations, input-output analysis, direction sense, coding and decoding are asked.
  • Indian and Global Environment: This is a current affairs section and questions will be related to General Knowledge

Every correct answer gives you 1 mark and a wrong answer takes away 0.25 marks due to negative marking. Now to score 90 percentile and above means you should score better than 90 percent of the Candidates who appeared for the exam. And because the no.of Candidates who appear for MAT every session change, we cannot put a number on it. Having said that, we shall try to give you a faint idea. First off, you should act on your strong areas and avoid any wrong answering. Language Comprehension is an easy section if you are good at reading and this is where you can score real good. And next is the General Knowledge and Current affairs section. If not Newspaper, atleast try reading Google News and this section will be easier for you to answer. Then come the remaining sections. If you can aim to answer atleast 20 questions per section correct, you can score 90 percentile and above.

hello, I am attending nmat next week. my photo in the photo ID proof and that of admit card is not the same. Is it a problem?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 12th Dec, 2020

Regarding Photo Identification, you have to carry the document that contains signature and photograph that strikes resemblance with the photograph and signature that is affixed in the NMAT admit card. Even if you do not have such an Identity proof, carry along with you Aadhar card and also if possible an Id card which has the resemblance of the same photo and signature. If you do not have them, it is still fine. But just make sure that you have the photograph in spare to validate that both of them is you. Few tips for the exam day:

Do not sign on the Admit card before you reach the Exam center.

Check the Exam center location beforehand

Do not carry any Electronic Gadgets

Check the seating arrangement

There are lockers available and so you can put your personal belongings in the designated lockers

By any reason, if you are not allowed to the examination hall, please call the exam conducting body at: 9513850009 and report to the authorities by helping them with your GMAC ID.

my neet score 324 i am confused to again take re- repeater or other course because next year despite of i am scoring 500 plus if doubt to get government seets in tamilnadu college pls give any solution

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 8th Dec, 2020
Hi

You have not mentioned the category you belong to so I am assuming that you belong to general category.

In Neet 2019, 469 marks for general category was the cut off marks to get a seat in Government Medical College under Tamilnadu state quota and it was for IRT Perundurai Medical College, Perundurai

But cut off marks for medical colleges keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc.

So, to to be on the safe beside you should try to get at least  550 + marks in your Neet 2021 examination

Also,
When it comes to taking a drop then these days it has become quite common to take a drop to prepare for Neet as during boards it becomes difficult for many to focus on both Neet examination and board. Also, Many students do take a drop every year to prepare for neet and not only prepare but get selected into good Medical College as well you can do the same, all you need to do is be honest and dedicated towards your studies and Neet preparation and you will definitely crack it

So, be optimistic if you are thinking about taking a drop and you can follow the below tips to prepare well for you Neet examination

*first of all make routine or timetable :- Give at least around 8 hours to studies , your routine should revolve around 3 things i.e first study, then practice and finally revise

*Master ncert:- Go well through ncert as at least around 90-95% questions in neet are based on the concepts from ncert , go through solved examples and unsolved questions in the ncert , in biology study all the diagrams also , as diagram based questions are also there , so you need to master NCERT

Top books which you can follow for your Neet preparation are

PHYSICS:-

*NCERT Physics textbooks for Class XI and XII
*Objective Physics for neet By DC Pandey

CHEMISTRY:-

*NCERT Chemistry textbooks for Class XI and XII
*Physical Chemistry by OP Tandon
*MS Chauhan (Organic)

BIOLOGY:-

*NCERT Biology Class XI and Class XII"-
*NCERT at your fingertips by mtg

*After finishing each chapter you should practice questions, you should practise at least 80 to 100 numericals / mcqs in Each chapter

*You can make short notes for quick revision of important concepts and formulas , keep revising your concepts at regular intervals, like once in a week or 15 days .

*Solve previous year NEET questions :-it will let you know the examination pattern, type and difficulty level of questions etc

* Once done with complete syllabus, go through NEET mock test papers , it will let you know your preparation level and and weak areas so that you can work on them and perform well in your examination

You can prepare well using our neet program for which link is provided below
