No, there is no benefit as such for admission in to IITs, NITs or PEC if you have joined in National Service Scheme as the admission is purely based on the entrance examination. However, you can get the benefit of NSS at the time of recruitment during campus placements, you can mention your participation in NSS activities under extra curricular activities. It will be an added advantage provided you must have decent academic performance, soft skills etc.

There are no hostel facilities available in Sree vyasa NSS college vyasagiri. There are other facilities which make the campus worthy for studying and other comfort available in this college:

It's depended on college and university too. Just for Example, if you are studying in Loyola College, Chennai. In Loyola, you need to part of any club, it maybe NSS, NCC or some other clubs and you should need to work 60 hours on this clubs. It is necessary that to get a degree certificate from Loyola College affiliated with madras university. So, No college will force you to be in NSS, but they can say to join in any one of clubs and complete the credits.

Hi aspirant, the answer of your question is yes NSS certificate give an additional  advantage to the NSS cadet which is maximum upto 3% to 5% enhancement in the academic studies or marks in final exams. The benefits are mentioned on the passing certificate or final marksheet.

There are several advantages of joining NCC as a cadet. And some of them are listed below for you. Further I cannot find any disadvantage for anyone pursuing this.

• IMA reserves 32 vacancies for certificate C cadet. But to join IMA it's a must for all the candidates to be declared successful by the Services Selection Board.
• With C certificate you can get exemption by CDS exam conducted by UPSC. But for this, the cadet must have 'A' or ‘B’ grade in 'C' certificate.
• NCC 'C' certification offers you 10–15 bonus marks in paramilitary forces recruitment i.e. BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB etc.
• If you have NCC 'C' certificates then your written exam will be waived off for the post of Soldier GD.

Many organizations from the public sector give advantages to the cadets with 'C' certification like Indian Airlines, Pawan Hans Ltd, The National Small Industries Corp. Ltd. and many more.
