It is not mandatory for the professor.It depends on their interests.If you are not interested to do it, noone will force you. It is good if you participate in nss and other activities but it is not a compulsory criteria.

With the marks you have scored and the category you belong to and seeing the previous year cutoff for MSC Zoology which was 228 marks for unreserved category you have no chance to get any college as cutoffs is not going to vary much.

For merit based the cutoff was 83.45%.

Yes there is good possibility as your 12th score is high. for Final KEAM score, Both KEAM entrance exam score and 12th score holds equal weightage.  Cutoff varies every year and for current year, cutoff range may not be following the previous year trend due to many factors.

education process got delayed by many months and it will effect the performance of candidates as health risk is the major reason. So do apply for NSS palakkad for ICE (High possibility if your rank is below 35k) along with other college option. You will get it.

their 10+2 cutoff but KEAM score  plays also an important role , as you didn't

mention your rank so it will be quite difficult to predict your chances but still with

your mention score your rank will go high but in NSS college for electronics and

communication branch your rank should be under 8.5 k  .

It isn't compulsory for students and assistant professor in degree college in mumbai to have NSS experience. Or they will not get any responsibility utill they want or skills and qualification according to that. Professor sdo take positions of responsibility such as department head, coordinator for college societies, NSS, NCC, etc. But it all depends upon skills and interests.
