Hey mate!
Benefits of Joining NSS 1. 5% reservation in admission or as decided by the institute. 2. The NSS offers a wonderful opportunity to use a part of spare time to empathise and help the poor and the under privileged fellow countrymen living in slums and villages. 3. It provides the volunteers with an opportunity to train themselves as the future leaders and decision makers of the country. 4. It provides training to equip the volunteers with the minimum necessary skills to carryout programmes. 5. It provides with opportunities to take part in inter-collegiate / inter-university / inter-state camps and exchange ideas with students from other colleges / universities / states.
It's help you alot.
If you got a chance to join NSS then go for it.

Hi Rino,
Nss engineering college palakkad is a government engineering college , computer science is in this college is very much in demand
From my experience , the chances are kind of less with a general category or OBC,it is likely possible with a SC/ST reservation
But still its based on number of people who opt for the course and ranks.U can still check and try to get into it , but look for other options at the same time.
Thank you !
Hi Pranab,
Instrumentation and control engineering course is good at NSS engineering college but you will have less placement offers. You can try other college and select a branch in which you are good and it should have good placement offers. All the best for your future.
hi,
National Service Scheme (NSS),
National Sports Organization (NSO)
National Cadet Corps (NCC)
see this is some extra curricular activities and some of the college has mandatory rules for students to join some extra curricular activities to get the mandatory points as per the instruction of the university. however this extra curricular activities has no direct connection with the course structure or syllabus of any particular engineering course. you may go for any of it even if you are from mechanical or production engineering branch. extra curricular activities are same for all streams.
