Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a degree focused on Ayurveda offered in india,nepal, Bangladesh and other south asian countries.The curriculum includes studying and teaching of along with corresponding Ayurvedic subjects such as Rachana Sharira, Kriya Sharira, Dravyuaguna, Svasthavritta and Yoga, Roga Nidana and Vikriti Vijnana, Kaya Chikitsa, Kaumara Bhritya, Prasuti Tantra, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra etc. along with human anatomy, physiology, pathology & diagnostic procedures, principles of medicine, pharmacology, toxicology, forensic medicine, E.N.T, gynecology & obstetrics, ophthalmology and principles of surgery from modern medicine.After BAMS You can either persue Diploma in Gynecology and obstetrics or Certificate course in Gynecology and obstetrics.It is a post graduation course.This course deals with the obstetrics along with maternity care and female reproduction and diseases.The diploma in Gynecology and obstetrics is a span of 2 years and is equally divided into 4 semesters.The course focuses on obstetrics for 1 year and another year is for Gynecology.The average fees for the diploma in ayurveda pharmacy course in India ranges from Rs 20K -3L per annum.The course fees may vary based on the facilities and the academic infrastructure of the college/University.Certificate course in Gynecology and obstetrics is aimed at practitioner who have gained basic skills in non complex obstetric procedures and gynaecology and is designed to facilitate a better understanding of reproductive disorders and pregnancy issues,to be able to provide a planned care.Students who are interested in pursuing this course will get a greater amount of exposure both theoretical and practical on child labor and fetus development studies which play a pivotal role in childbirth.The majority of the course is only for women in india and only some universities offer this course for men.This course also deals with fertility and the formation of the zygote,which is the initial stage of the fetus formation process.It lays a greater empasis also on fertilization and problems related to it.On completion of this course you will able to develop the basic clinical skills of history taking, clinical examination and case presentation in obstetrics and Gynecology, obtain knowledge of the common clinical problem in obstetrics and Gynecology, understand physiology of basic complications and conditions in obstetrics and Gynecology and understand the principal and methods of fertil control.
